caffeinated cross, mullica hill, nj, debut course 2013
race report:
mstr50+, 9a, 0:40min, damp foggy, 57dF,
2nd row start, long 200m flat straight to 1st right turn onto wet grass&slight hill turns, across multiple terrain(s), heavy gravel, fast sand, off camber bumps&burms, wood chips, packed barn dirt, deep loamy woods, logs, shallow hill climb steps, steep (0)momentum 7m hill carry/climb&run down, turning 18" run/lift barriers...fun, fascinating course; multiple falls, (1)push/bump/fall w/2laps togo scramble back &pass in the chicane, didn't look back, finished strong!
typical mid-pack finish 11th/19 on a beautiful south jersey rural autumn day!
shout outs! 2 jim fehan for a good7th place finish in 50+@:30sec back of (3)w/a bike change! &as usual daveStokes & toddMcL in a very fast/competitive cat3's field @0:45min.
