X-rays etc.

Sadly, most of us end up with bike or other-related x-rays.  But for the pain, expense, time away from the bike, potential life threatening nature of the precipitating events, and other associated hardship, the x-rays themselves are sometimes pretty cool.  Please feel free to share.  I've started the ball rolling with two of mine--neither of them bike-related. The first was the result of a snowboarding adventure gone awry and the second the result of an enthusiastic but nonetheless misguided game of barefoot soccer in the living room with my son.
I'm a new member of the metal in body club.  My bike slipped on ice 12/18/2013, 3 screws on 12/19/2013, and I'll be as good as new by April.
The bike was fine.

@Bruce-Looks they had a sale at Home Depot on those screws.  Are they allen heads?  Does your multitool fit them?  Will they come out at some point or are they a permanent fixture now?
Ha, Home Depot came to mind when I first saw them.  I think the doctor used a Park multitool to get them in.  I swear that's what I saw on the table just before they put me out.  These babies are permanent, only to be remembered every time I go through airport security, or before it rains and my bones start to ache.
@Bruce- I recognize that there's a LOT more to it, but It's amazing how much orthopedic surgery comes down to carpentry (minus the wood), engineering, and fabrication.
For whatever it's worth, that whole titanium rod assembly in my leg has only once set off an airport detector in about a dozen or so flights.
Ay...well, most importantly, good luck with the recovery.

@DavidYang

Weird, I thought Homer was supposed to have a Crayola lodged in his brain/head.
That toe looks like it hurt!
Bump!

Need some film.  Wes, Wrongway, let's see the goods!

I think I may have broken something in my hand too so I'll probably have more x rays to share in a few days.
@JP: John's pictures are in another thread. Perhaps about Floyd Bennett.

@Malcomson: ready for that trainer yet?
@Stokes Yes, I think so... how noisy is a trainer? Surgery Wednesday.

Wait, John, you never ride the trainer?
John basically doesn't train. That's his secret.
I ride the Computrainer, that counts.

Taking photos of my girlfriend while descending the bridge onto Randall's island when she had to brake hard due to a family with kids spanning the full width of the path. I realized she was slowing down too late, grabbed my front brake too hard, and went over the bars, while still shooting photos. Captured this gem:

Bike, cell phone, and even raybans came away mostly unscathed. Unfortunately, my hand didn't do so well. Red overlay shows the direction the bone is supposed to go:

Surgery next week, no racing for months. This is why you should always ride brakeless ;)

Damn Jesse, that's the pits right there.  Hope the surgery goes well and get well soon.

Also what are we looking at in the crash picture, two baguettes?
@David, I think those are actually my fingers clutching onto the phone for dear life. Or hot dogs.
Damn, this is getting ridiculous.
Yikes, sorry to hear it.  Going over the bars is no good.  I rode behind a guy this morning on my commute who had a small dog in his backpack, his eyes all squinted from the wind.  Very cute.  I thought about your picture on this site.
Good luck with the surgery and feel better.
OUCH!
ugh....
That's some bullshit Jesse, but that Hot-Dog Legs site lives up to its name.

No racing means more training! You can always do box jumps and stuff like that to hone your already-massive sprint.

Or just use this as an excuse to enjoy your summer and take a lot of pictures.
@jesselash‌ I have a good hand PT to recommend if you need one.
Thanks Jeff and @Jules.

Will be posting soon looking for some workout advice, but until surgery I'm trying to lay low. Hoping to avoid PT, but time will tell.
