I'm looking for a ride to this crit in Danbury, CT. The 3 races goes off at 11am. Great fun 4-corner crit. Have gas $$ for anyone driving up. More info here: https://www.bikereg.com/26976

Craig, this is one that I'm interested in on that day.

Race looks good in Danbury Marc. Let me know how we can commute up together. I race at 11 am though- looks like you would go off at 4:15p if you do the 1/2's

For some reason, this race no longer appears on the bikereg site, unless you search for it. Then you find out they closed online registration 10 days before their event. I don't understand any of this. But I may still go. Here's a link to a page that has start times and other info.

$45 + $10 late fee in order to do a crit. I am thinking no thanks, but then again a the Cat 3/4 is paying $1250 to 10 deep and there are 6 people registered for that race. it sounds like a break even race.

I am on the fence, I just have to convince my wife that I should get a hall-pass for this weekend. I have a car with room for 3 bikes and 3 riders (cozy that way), Craig & Marc, if I go I would be happy to do the driving.

I'd email the promoter if I were you.

I did, earlier today. Haven't heard anything. Also emailed bikereg. I guess that's the answer there.

If the promoter is postponing for low pre-reg numbers, I'm going to scream. You know for all the hand-wringing that Tokeneke was doing like a month ago? Just a few days before the race had close to 500 registrations. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT RACERS DO.

For chrissssakes.

But where did you see this info Vlad? I can't find it.

Never mind. I scrolled down, way down, past all the "day of" registration info and saw it.
that's what I get for wanting to race out of town. I guess I better stick to the park.

Also the site doesn't have any information as to why they may have postponed the event.

From a their FB page, I asked the person who posted the bikereg link why/when rescheduled; her inadvertently hilarious response:

"It will be rescheduled for 2016, no exact date yet. Please see the wheelPassion page for press releases."

Basically, it sounds like businesses were pissed off that their streets were going to be closed...

Read the statement on the FB page.  I did the race last year.  And I did it in the 1980's into the 1990's.  Downtown Danbury looked plenty sleepy last year.  There are few businesses on the course, and many looked to be closed on Sundays as well.  Back in the '80s, Danbury seemed more hopping.

Odd.
