Good course for a compact space.  I felt like nearly every foot of the park was utilized--even allowing for people to move around the course for spectating.

Lots of off-camber.  This would be a running course in the wet.

The barriers weren't 40cm.  Still tough because they were placed immediately after a U-Turn.

Would have liked to ride the course when it was hard.  It got greasy as the day went on.

Field limit might have been a bit small.  Still, it was sub six-minute lap for the fast guys.  Four guys under an hour, the fifth was just over an hour.  

For me, I violated my own rule of not thoroughly checking new stuff before racing.  The cassette was new, and it came loose during the race, not only throwing of the shifting, but also the lock ring rubbed on the frame twice every pedal stroke.

Patrick looked good.  

Good crowd showed up.  Even made $2 thanks to spectator hand-ups.

Tom Mains did the results.  Smooth and fast.  

There's talk about this coming back next year.  This version was pulled together at the last minute, with help from NYSBRA and USAC.  With more time, it could be better.

Really enjoyed the course. I flatted out during the first lap ("Why do I keep sliding out and falling on turns??? Oh..." *Sad trombone*), but got to pre ride it like 4 laps.

Anyway after the men's b race wrapped up I actually looked up from the course and realized there was this magnificent city backdrop behind it. What a view! Huge ups to Keith and the organizers. I hope it comes back again.

Btw Jim was 10th. He was as cool as a cucumber and rode like a boss.

The B team.. I loved racing with Manhattan as the backdrop and being less than a mile from my house. Happy to see teammates on New Year's Eve! Also good to see Myles first thing in the morning setting up the course.

 I loved preriding the course but not so much racing it (I found it a tough course for late season fitness). But I will do it again when it comes back next year. The ground was solid in the morning and turned a little soft as the sun shone. Windy. I had a mishap with a plastic bag wrapping itself into my cassette. Had to stop and get rid of it. Sad to pass David on the side with a flat, happy to see Jim lapping me.
Harry toughed it out with the single speeders first race of the day. For half of the race he was running 5th. 

That's 2016 folks. A happy and a healthy New Year to everyone!

Jesus I love racing bikes.

I missed out on the entire CX season due to a f'ed back but knew I had to get out there and race in Queens. My back has been feeling better but my fitness consists of mainly commuting and a few Zwift sessions. 

Got a front row call up (apparently because some guy with my name has been racing well in the midwest and my crossresults points are lowish - need to email them and get it sorted out) and hit the hole shot in about 5th place. Proceeded to loose about 10 places but knew some of them were going to blow up. Finally found myself on the back end of a group of 5. Spent the whole race working my way through each of them by laying down blistering (bull-is-terrrr-ing) attacks when I sensed they were resting. Finished 10th which was better than I had anticipated.

One of the best moments of the day was just after one of those attacks when I passed a young guy (26 years old according to crossresults) and a spectator yelled "Don't let that old guy do that to you!". 

Awesome cheering from the gang on the sidelines. 

Got home and enjoyed a delicious sponsor correct beverage

SO MUCH HOTNESS. All of it, I believe. Gutted that my departure from Brooklyn is followed by a race in Queens. (shakes fist at sky)
