It's a race in teh sense that each rider will get a timing chip and the top 3 finishers for each AG get an award. It's not a USA Cycling race. They're calling it a timed gran fondo or medio fondo depending on what you fancy.Jules said:Is it a race again?eloy said:Ok so this promo video was about 100 times better than expected:

ALL the footage is race based. USAC waivers being signed, introducing riders by category, race footage from when it was a USAC race.SeanMiles said:I find it annoying they interview and caption CAT1, 2 etc. and looks like they use some footage from when it was an actual race, when it's not at all applicable.
Such a bummer, remember doing this race as one of my first few as a CAT5. An awesome course in the backyard of where I grew up. I just can't justify paying a good chunk of change for something I could go do any weekend I'm visiting my parents...for free.

Read back in this thread; this used to be an amazing early season race. Snow, rain, hard conditions early in April and every racer on the eastern seaboard started prepping for it in January. Endless talk and plans, tire selection, and suffering - we sent big teams there to compete.JohnOlsson said:haha what is about the event that makes you say that? Have been hearing that a lot lately...
Pretty much, except they moved it to May. Nothing compares to Battenkill in early April...LennartZandbergen said:So this is a gravelish 100k road race in April? Like, Rasputista without a 25% grade muddy unbikable climb? Where do I sign up?
So weird.Thierry Bonnaire said:I just read on Facebook that the race has been canceled.
