Rasputitsa

Hi gents, thought we could create a new thread to deal with the organisational side of things.

Currently we have the farm house secured for accommodation from Friday to Sunday. I think a useful initial first step would be for anyone who is planning on driving (and who would like to share the ride!) to post with info such as when they would ideally like to go, do they have a bike rack for the car, and how many people/bikes they can take. From there hopefully we can align people' desired travel times and if no cars available, start thinking about alternatives...

Cheers,

Rich
To get the ball rolling, I don't have a car and was planning on taking the Friday off work so can be flexible with travel. Ideally I'd like to travel up in the morning/early afternoon to have a chance to stretch the legs in the afternoon in VT. Happy to rent and drive as I don't have car/van/F150/etc
Same - taking that Friday off, flexible on travel time, no car but can rent / drive as needed.
I can probably take Friday off too. Similarly, don't have a car but could rent.

Would the plan be to come back Sunday?

Well the accommodation currently ends on Sunday, so my plan was to head for home after a leisurely breakfast/brunch.
I'm actually off Friday too! Got room for any combination of 2 bikes, 4 people or 3 bikes 3 people.
And am down to leave somewhat early Friday to get settled in.
I’ll be in Vermont on Wednesday of that week. If any of you feel like seeing a different part of Vermont let me know, I’ll be about 60 miles from the race.
I’ve got a car and room for two-three other bikes (and riders)
Rasputitsa postponed to July 25. I'm def still up for it ... but it now conflicts with grant's tomb

womp— definitely a better date than April ;) we’ll see how things develop till then
Damn, the April date was the day after my birthday!
Hey folks, if you know anyone who wants my spot, please let me know. Otherwise I am going to try to use my cancelation insurance.
well that is disappointing. especially since July is definitely not mud season in Vermont, and it is after black fly season as well.
I was in Vermont last July... it was amazing
after black fly season is a good thing!   hoping KSR is not postponed/canceled...but we will see what happens..

See that was your problem. In July it is beautiful, the black flies are gone and the roads are dry.

It makes you think it is like that all the time, rather than really nice for two short windows in the year where the climate isn't trying to make you suffer.
This changes everything. I'm going to race with Vittoria Corsas and 60mm deep wheels if it's going to be in July.
So in preparation for this I've ordered some deep rim Industry Nine wheels. In other news I've cancelled our AirBnB booking and received the refund so will be re-venmoing you today.
Just pressed the buttons and added an appropriate emoji.

That being said, does anyone want to join me and plan for July?
I can’t go in July. Ask around and see if anyone wants my spot.

Not Rasputitsa, but seems interesting.

This reminds me that I spoke with someone from Rasputitsa the other day and she confirmed that 2020 registration has been rolled over to 2022.
I'll be back.
Hi hi, last chance for my rasputitsa 70k spot. Let me know if you want it. If no one replies in a couple of hours, I'll give up my spot to the wait list or someone not from Kissena
Anyone doing rasputitsa this year?
I am signed up, anyone else? They don’t display the registered list.
I’m in for the full (though I will probably ask to do the shorter route, my ride time has been nil). Want to carpool and book a place to stay? Planning on Friday-Sunday.
Yes, let’s plan to take the trip together
Rasputitsa 2024 will be open for reg at 10am today! It sells out quick, so suggest you get on this as early as possible. This is a great course and the 10th anniversary is going to be held a week earlier to make it extra miserable and snowy and muddy. Sounds fun to me!

Happy to share rides, hotel rooms, etc.!
