Social Distancing 14k (4 laps) ITT at Floyd Bennett Field

I’m down to do this
I think I'll give this a go too!
I did a TTT and then a TT there (5 laps) in 2011.

My solo time (after doing the TTT) was 28.53 on a road bike. The first person to beat it will get a postage-paid KCC Jersey (size medium) from 2012 vintage.

Are you offering for five or four laps?

I don't need the jersey, but I like a fun challenge like this.  The ninety minute commute does dissuade, though I bet Flatbush is pretty tame these days.
Five laps; beat my time, score a sweet “quasi-vintage” jersey and very fresh bragging rights.
So I am thinking of giving this a go on Sunday morning. Is there a particular start/finish that I should look for or anywhere on the main straight away is OK?

This is Victor's strava file.

I was thinking of giving it a go sunday as well and want to avoid other folks (nothing personal, Bobby 😉). Post up when you're thinking of heading down there.
@RobertMullen my heart is broken. I was hoping to at least see you from afar 🥺

bump. 28:53 come get some...!

Sadly FBF is closed down for some time. They weren't letting cars in when I rode by and I thought maybe they'd let me in on the bike but the cop said no. The did however repave the whole road leading up to/past the toll booth. Things could be very different if they keep paving...

That's a shame.
Floyd is back open! I set my time while doing some sweet spot efforts (2xSDTT rather than going by time is a fun way to do those efforts). I'd like to go back with some race wheels on and give it another go.

Alex Koch is doing some TTs at the Rockaways, unsanctioned, but he's doing reg, timing, etc... He's also put on the Randal's Island Crits the past year and change. Anyway, he's looking for people to come out and help support these events by racing. It's a 10Km ITT. Obviously if you do not feel comfortable with the event, or whatnot, it would be understood.

Proof that Kissenas are out racing TTs...
Snagged a Podium in the Masters 40+ Non-TT bikes. Mr. 3rd place didn't show up to the podium.

Daaaang that close-up of Ricky is sick.
^great photos!
@AndrewJohnson you don't need me to tell you that spending the first minute at 120% or more of your ftp is going to cost you plenty ;)

Hah.. yeah well I stomp to get out of the "gate" and get on top of the gear, then I tend to over cook it in the first minute or so until I figure out where to settle in. The mostly headwind on the way out for the first 6km sucked, but the tail wind on the last 4km was awesome  :)
