Five Boro Bike Tour

Anyone planning to do Five Boro Bike Tour this year? I haven't done it since 2017 and while it's not my favorite event, my wife has never done it and wants to. While congested, it is a nice/rare occasion to ride closed city streets. Going to name our group KCC Friends and Family in case others want to join in.
Definitely a scenic ride to introduce the non-regular cyclists in your life to NYC. The price has gone up way higher than I remember at $140.
It's not my favorite event either, but I do it every year with my youth bike club at El Puente. It's a fun way to spend the day with kids who are newish to cycling - and a mid-spring goal for them to get prepared for putting in that many miles. The best part of the day for me is the couple of hours we spend pre-ride running "pump teams" - inflating tires, adjusting brakes, and doing other repairs to help riders having issues with their bikes. It's amazing how many people show up with bikes with flat tires and other issues. The kids are always proud of how their skills as mechanics help get people's bikes operating and on their way. Riding on the BQE is always a trip as well!

@Joe Matunis totally, and yes, riding with someone who can help get up to and hold 25mph on the BQE is great fun :)
@BlakeFoster

I'm on the fence this year.  I had done it with my son pretty regularly since 2012, I think, but hten the pandemic hit, and then I was recovering from a fracture, and last year, I waited too long and missed registration.

Largely depends on what my son wants to do.
