Gravel group rides

This Sat or Sun both work for me!
I'm in for either day.
Do we have a sense on which day ? , I'm trying to work out some transport issues
Everyone said both days work except David who said Saturday works, so let's confirm Saturday?
Great, Saturday it is. Forecast is looking better as well.

Will send more details tonight or tomorrow
Looks like I maybe taking the train ,
arrival is 8.15 or 9.15 ,

Gravel Ride details:

When: This Saturday 9/7 meetup at 9:15am
Where: Bedford Wheelhouse (Ride Brooklyn's sister shop) - map link
What: Fun gravel adventure. Pete at Bedford Wheelhouse will have coffee and donuts. Bring your 30+ tires, fluid, nutrition, $ for a coffee stop, and tools to patch a flat, etc.

Route: Let's go with Grant's "shorter option" course. (link) Given its our first ride in the area let's go with the shortest option with the least amount of climbing which also allows us to head to Scott's Corner if we have time/energy. We can also cut that part out if we have bit off more than we can chew.

I proposed above that we meet up at 9:15, which is when the train gets into Bedford. I could be convinced to meet at 8:15 if enough people want an earlier start and end. Someone could also offer Mark a ride ;-)

You guys should all carpool

Questions?
As for headcount, it appears we have seven: Grant, Eloy, Mark, Charlton, David, Greg and I. Did I miss anyone?
Sounds great! I’m down for an 8:15am start :)

I will be driving and have space for 3 people and 3 bikes, including me. So 2 free spots — LMK!

I am leaving from Carroll Gardens (Sackett + Court St).

One bike will need front wheel taken off and laid down side in my trunk, but I’ve done it before so it fits :).
Charlton I’ll take the ride if it’s still open
8.15 is good for me if I can get a ride if I’m on train 9-15 is better
@CharltonSoesanto I can take the other spot if still open.
I’m ok w 8:15 too
815 is perfect. Greg, if you're not driving I can.
@David Yang  Wasn't planning on it.  I can meet you along the route, just lmk where.
@Mark Taylor @eloy both are available! Will DM you with details
@PatrickGrehan are we in agreement the plan is 8:15? Seems like consensus
Are we looking at mostly smooth gravel or will there be chunky offroad bits?
The gravel is pretty tame tbh, I'm gonna ride 32s with minimal tread. I'd describe it as dirt with scattered rocks on top.
8:15 it is. Haven’t heard if Pete will be available with coffee at that hour yet
Pete has confirmed he will have coffee and donuts
That's awfully nice of him! Thanks for arranging Patrick.
@GrantSeltzer
make the ride public so we can download it.
Here's the same route but public: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48341597
@GrantSeltzer really sweet route
Grant , Charlton ,Greg ,Patrick & Dave headed north to Bedford wheelhouse to start a really nice 33% gravel route ,Pete had coffee and donuts ready before he joined through rolling Westchester
Charlton smashed all the climbs
Another fall ride slightly longer would be awesome

Do we make a return to New Paltz?

Good riding up in Bedford! Excellent gravel bits and interesting tarmac all around and really fun sightseeing the picture perfect properties that line the roads. Had a blast with good company and we should definitely do more.

Yes, trying to settle on a weekend that works for everyone. Weekend of Oct 19th/20th?
Or weekend after that - Oct 26/27th?
Finally get around to editing the video from the Bedford gravel ride.

Enjoy (and feel free to share) here
A few upcoming gravel rides on my radar:
If you pick only one from above, Farmer's Daughter is likely the one. It has sold out in past years.

As other's suggested, we can also just do our own ride.

We just need to pick a date.

For example, I created this route I rode it a few times between Garrison and Cold Springs, tons of gravel and even some single track:

Sat Feb 22nd or Sunday March 16 (better) anyone?

I’d be in for Farmers Daughter! Toad Strangler is the same area, might be interested in that one too.
