Summer Streets has expanded and the 5bbc would love to partner with the Kissena Cycling Club  @ our tent.  see below info.  Our tent in Manhattan on Saturday, August 17 or in the Bronx or Brooklyn on Saturday, August 24?   Eric Brooks is the 5bbc volunteer recruiter trying to staff this event appropriately. 

We will have our tent in Manhattan on the next three Saturdays, and in Brooklyn and the Bronx on Saturday, August 24. We still need volunteers for the second half of August. Can you help out at the following times? If so, please email me at volunteer@5bbc.org and state the day, time and location you can volunteer, and the kind of work you can do. (Please include "Summer Streets" in the subject line of your email.) Just say that you are from the Yonkers or Westchester Bike Club in the email.

If you are volunteering as a mechanic, let me know whether you can fix flats, adjust brakes and brake cables, and adjust derailleurs, gears and chains. Thanks.

As you may know, on August 24, the Grand Concourse and Eastern Parkway will be car-free from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and open to walkers, runners, bicyclists, and anybody enjoying car-free streets. The Club will have a tent where we will repair bikes (members' and non members') for free, and talk with visitors about cycling around New York and how 5BBC rides work, including point-drop-sweep.
