Thanks Alan, for all your hard work today - I know that getting the cars cleared must be a monstrous task, and you guys made the best of the situation. And the shortened course in the 4 race really showed how many people are scared of tight cornering. ;)

Mattie strapped one on this winter an commuted to work 3 days a week on his bike...mad props for the hard man act. This was a nasty winter and hats off top anyone who got in the miles. Nice sprint Mattie. I had decent position but noo wattage at the end. I did have a good view of you moving up the right side for the sprint. Buy yourself some heated socks with your race winnings.

i attacked with 1.75 laps to go and held it until around 250 to go on the homestretch

the sprinters passed me at about twice my speed, but i was glad i gave it a dig

the team was good today, especially keith and ragot - they know what's up

p.s. next time i take a solo flyer, instead of yelling "go william!" tell me to get in the damn drops - i was NOT aero there!

That's what I thought when I saw the picture. If you had been in the drops, you would have won, or at least made it to 50m to go.

Yes, really. Peoples, spend more time in the drops. WDC might not have won, but chances are he would have gone farther.

William, Ragot, and Keith were at or near the front the whole race. Rene was instructed to stay tucked in and wait for the sprint while others looked for breaks. No moves ever seemed to get away without a kissena in the move or bringing the move back. It was pretty impressive. There was one move that looked promising (I think it had Keith and Woodbury) but it fizzled. William launched a well timed move at the end but a few clubs were organizing for their sprinter and brought him back with 250m to go (BH and someone else I think) Very ballsy and made me proud to be wearing the same kit. Keith and Ragot were moving up late but got caught in traffic.

I had a nice perspective on this race after getting shot out the back 12 minutes into it. I had a really tough time moving up and accelerating out of the turns etc. but it is a learning experience I guess. Tried to follow the "move up to the front" advice but I was going all out just to hang on from the first lap. Ouch ouch ouch. Thought I was on a safe wheel (DieHard) but he let a big gap open. Had to do a big chase to get back on. Didn't take the next turn fast enough, and that was all she wrote. Tried to get in a tiny chase group that was passing me but couldn't even hang with them. Eek. Till next weekend.

Congratulations Mattie. I'm gonna try to drop by the shop tomorrow to shake your hand in person.

Must do some more intervals...the only explosiveness I displayed yesterday was in the porta-pod before the race!! Wooo I got a million of em!
