Madouas and Van Baarle did not win, but likely the ride of their life so far.
It was super interesting and fun to see MVdP instinctively handle the pressure.
MVdP started his sprint exactly so that Madouas and Van Baarle could never overtake. Pogacar started his sprint AFTER Madouas and Van Baarle had overtaken him.
It was millimetric and literally less than an instant. The difference between winning (or second) or completely off the podium. Even those of us racing cat 5 can take this: Momentum wins.
On the Women's race, the fans celebrating Lotte Kopecky beers to the sky is a cycling mood and every awesome!! What a way to ride as a team!
