"Attention Prospect Park Racers: The potholes in Prospect Park need to be fixed and the only way it's going to get done is if everybody calls 311. There are potholes throughout the course but the main stretch of potholes is on South Lake Drive just after Park Circle so use that address if asked. If enough people call maybe we can have this fixed by Saturday's race."

A lot of the holes were marked recently. I remember last year when they did that I was quite excited. They took FOREVER to actually fill them. I think it was 3-4 weeks after marking. Hopefully they fix it soon.

JP once got cash money from the city for wheels he broke riding through a pothole. I think.

I also reported that giant pothole past the finish line that the guy on the front always drags the pack through.

Try using the following two descriptions:

1. East Drive at the intersection with Nethermead Arches (I didn't try this one, but I think their system might accept it)
2. East Lake Drive, 500 feet north of intersection with Lincoln Road (I used this one, but it's not the most precise, I don't think)

Nope.

He's not. I was riding to a race in Prospect a few years back and I rode through a wheel-devouring pothole at 5th and 33rd. I lumped that wheel to the race, borrowed a wheel, raced, lumped home, and called the city. It took a few months, but I got replacement value.

Essentially, I think the deal is that if the city has been alerted to the hole, then they're responsible. And if their inattention caused damages, they should be on the hook.

Call the DOT. See what you can do.

@WDC. Definitely not. He even got into an argument with a guy about how much money. Ask him for details. Maybe you too can score some Benjamins?

I know this one--as long as the pothole was 311'd at least 15 days prior you can claim against city.

I reported this as a "sink hole" so hopefully it will get double attention.

Can we get someone to report this one as an "Intergalactic Space-Time Vortex"? That might get them out there with some patch.

Noticed this afternoon that many of them have been spraypainted, so hopefully they will get to fixing them soon (either that or Park Slope has the lamest graffiti artists ever)

LOL. The holes are mostly fixed by now, but nice to see that 2 months later the DOT has determined that they are not going to fix the potholes.
