If any women or juniors are reading the forum - there are races in these categories listed on bikereg as well.

"The Cross Course winds through a defunct nursery from the early 20th century. Observe a plethora of characteristic South Jersey arboreal surroundings ranging from sandy deciduous, ancient pine, to aromatic swamp. The course is flat and- aside from the technical, turny stuff- fast."

I am signed up for the C race if anyone wants to ride down with me - I am leaving Astoria around 10am.
Hi Joshua,

I'm signed up for the C race also. Would love to carpool down with you but do you have space for my (non-racing) girlfriend as well?
hey josh/Derek,

Any more room in that car? I have a 3 bike saris rack, an Ipod with pump-up tunes, beer handups and gas money to offer.
Or, is anyone driving to the B race with room in the car?
aw c'mon chris - no campout this year?!
dude, last year was coooolllddd.
incredibly good time this past sunday at Hillbilly Hustle

Josh C. has some pictures

rode the c's with Josh and Derrick. lots of mud. i started in the 4th or 5th row, got in the top ten after the holeshot, but got literally run-over during the first assault on the dirt mound run/ride-up. some aggro duder got up out of the bike/body tangle and started dragging his bike over the dirt mountain, which would be fine, except my bike was connect to his. every one was screaming and hollering and he couldn't hear me yelling at him to stop. i had to literally leap over the crest of the hill and grab his leg before he noticed he was dragging my ride away.

once i got the bike back, it was full on Stephen Roche "etting the rohd up" - passing people on the straights as fast as possible (to discourage chase) then protecting my position by taking the widest, hogggiest lines through the turns. i wiped out several times on the slick muddy turns, but succeeded to not fall over in the deep foul soupy mud pits. with two to go, the lap counter read "2", and with one to go, the lap counter still read "2". I should have known better, but I assumed it was a fuck-up and i had another lap to go.

I didn't - crossed in 6th and it was suddenly over. too bad, because my "road fitness" was kicking in near the end - i wasn't able to go super-fast, but i felt like i could keep going for a while longer.

this was my first cross race of the season, and i'm so happy to be back at it. if road racing is the stern silver-haired patriarch of the cycling family, the one who gets you your first job out of college but never seems totally satisfied with what you've done with your life, cyclocross is your cool older cousin who gets you high behind Chili's and gives you his old BB gun.

rad on
Good job, DC!

I am that cousin. Look, we can smoke it out of this Mountain Dew can. Lemme show you.....
