Prospect Park Weekday Training Sessions & Riding

1863 comments · 28564 views

There was a whole bunch of us this morning...me, Eric, Thierry, Dan, Joshua, some (new?) person I didn't get a chance to talk to and a couple others. Great time riding around as a group of eight. It was cold these last two mornings but I like it way better than 85 degrees and humid. Just gotta invest in some booties.

Let's keep this great energy going until either snow or wicked cold stops it!
I was the newb this morning (no kissena kit yet...). It was great to ride with everyone, and I think I'm actually starting to remember people's names.   :)   This morning was a lot like the Mountain View morning weather last week.

Gonna be in PP tomorrow morning at 7:30 for some steady Endurance. Holla.

Dur, wrong thread for my 6 AM report, sorry y'all. Thanks though Bruce you got me my "25 likes" badge : )

Don't Practice CX in Prospect Park

Sun, 10/27/2013 - 8:47pm by Andy Shen

It was brought to our attention that people have been practicing CX off the main park roadway in Prospect Park. The Prospect Park Alliance has been notified and sent pictures and videos of these riders, and this could be used to ban all racing from Prospect. Please keep in mind that park rules explicitly state that cycling is only allowed on the main roadway, Center Drive, and Well House Drive (see park cycling rules here). Please stop CX training off the roadways so that Prospect Park racing won't be jeopardized.

Gonna do an hour of recovery in the park today ON THE MAIN ROADWAY ONLY. Sometime after 3:30 -- I'm flexible. Anyone want to join?
I will be in the Park from 9:15 this evening 'til about 10:30/45.
I'm headed out now (probably more like 5:15ish) until probably 7 or so. Meant to get out earlier but traffic prevented me (and will just deal with the cars. Meh). No Kissena kit yet, white Cannondale Synapse with some red on it.
Meredith
I'll be in the park in 5min. Kcc kit. Older style ls jersey. Grey cannondale. Orange helmet is the tipoff.
Great meeting Meredith out there tonight. She caught me and Ragot from behind then tacked about 20 watts onto our steady pace without breaking a sweat. Hmmm. I wonder if CRCA is ready for the sudden emergence of the KCC women's wrecking crew they're about to face.
In the Park from 8:30 to 9:30 this morning.
I'll be there 4:45-6.
Heading to the park for 345 or so
leaving at 3:47
will be at prospect park from 4-5. white cervelo, white helmet, black vest.
Halloween is over, @Apruzzese.

I'll be out there at 4 for a few laps.
Headed out to Prospect Park now for some unsatisfying laps. (Figure 12;15 til 2:00.)
Anybody planning some laps ,around 8 ish before I prepare the feast
I am planning for a handful of laps starting around 10 for some pre-turkey laps with a friend from SFO. Come out and join us for burning enough calories to maybe make up for the fact we are all going measure our gravy consumption by the liter.

Me!
I'm planning on around 9am
I'll be out there around 9
I'll be there earlier; have to be home by 9am so Lisa can stitch up all the folks who only use a carving knife once a year.

What about all those people who use a reciprocating saw to carve the bird?
They get the staple gun and a squirt of dermabond. Ask @Myles, that stuff is dope.
I will be out there tomorrow morning as well. Will hopefully run into some of you folks pre food coma.
Plans changed - 12-2 ish for me
Windy and cold out there with a couple of icy patches. Also prospect park track club was putting on a 10k run so runners are clogging up all lanes. Ride with caution!
Dan, I'm sure you're at least (nearly) old enough to remember electric carving knives (basically low powered but significantly sharper reciprocating saws) wielded by half drunk (or fully drunk) fathers. You know, back when the promise was that electricity would save us from those horrible mundane tasks like moving your arm back and forth to cut something or turning your wrist to open a can.
