Give her Trophy to keep her company in the cab.

Can we get a pic of that thing? I haven't basked in His glory in a while.
Jeff where are you? It sucks out here.
Went with Aly like 2 hours ago! Sorry, didn't hear back from anyone else so we just took off. I heard a rumor that Joe and Ryan might be going...maybe?

Yeah, started to get cold when sun went down. Nothing exciting happened to us either. Just like 8 laps. No racoons. No cops. No speeding wrong-way drivers. No tackling joggers. Very dull....
I said at 4pm! I rode backwards / waited. Cops were ticketing wrong way down the uphill.
Sorry. Didn't get it. Shoulda called me, yo.

That's awesome they were ticketing the salmon. Wish they would do that in Manhattan more often. Cops +1. Of course, they're running at a -infinity.

Lol

I miss trophy
gonna go riding around 5:30 if anyone wants to have a recovery/endurance ride, i'll be out.
Heading to PP @ 2pm for 2 hrs, some 5/3/1 intervals.
Shooting for a noon ride today.

2 hrs, easy.
shooting for 4:30 pm today, recovery / endurance ride. weather looks promising!
weather from 9:30 to 11:30 was excellent --and virtually no one in the park! I did see Neilx and David Sterns --did a few laps spinning with them. Then I did what I didn't want to do 2 laps TT x 2. First time doing that much intensity since I started training back in early November. I am so happy that I haven't had to go through such snortfuls of misery for so long.
My times tonight were OK, I reckon: lap1, 8:34 / Lap2, 8:39 //lap easy// lap3, 8:36 / lap4, 8:41. The wind was moderately high, but coming from a more southerly direction so had a tailwind on the long back-stretch --which implies these laps would have taken longer on on similarly windy day with the prevailing west wind blowing moderately hard. And it would have been nice if the times had been reversed, that is getting faster on the second laps and with the second 2lap effort being faster than the first, but I was pleased to keep the times so close.

I hope to get some good duelling TTs going on with you guys this year... of course, doing so in the park during late spring and summer is precarious. I will probably be moving my weekday TT activity out to Floyd once the park starts getting busy.
@ Norm: I'd love to join you at Floyd. Those things are misery on one's own.

For anyone who is interested, I'll be headed for a social jaunt to Mt Somethingorother (Hamilton?) tomorrow am: wheels down 6:30, looks to be a balmy 40 degrees or such. Back by 7:45.
Last year, after the Central Park crackdown, flashing yellow lights were proposed for Central Park and the police seemed to be on board with it. Hasn't happened.
going for a recovery/endurance ride tomorrow morning if anyone is interested.
Anyone want to do some Intervals with me today at about 5?
Whitey and I are gonna ride tomorrow morning at 630am in PP if anyone wants to join!
Testing Tomorrow.
Riding Wednesday outside - call it 4:30 or 5. Will advise.
Aly's note got me thinking - any thoughts/interest in getting the regular morning training rides going again? I'd probably need to start a bit earlier than 6:30 to make it work...
Yeah, I think it's getting to be about that time, especially considering "spring forward" is about to happen, plunging our traditional 6 a.m. start time back into complete darkness.

Perhaps these loosely-coached rides should be publicized on our website as open to all.
I will start posting the Weekly morning training schedule at the beginning of April otherwise it will be a dark experience.
I will start showing up for 6AM rides if other folks are up for it.
60 degrees!!!!!

I am going to try to sneak out of school on time and be out rolling around in the park by 4:15. Warm up, and hit some tempo for an hour or so.

if you want to join, jump right on!
ditto - not that early but probably 5:30-6:30 ish
no tempo, just some "back from the sick" riding
I hope to be out tomorrow morning from about 5:30 to 7:00. 50 Degrees at 5am!

I'll stop at GAP at about 6:00. Let me know if anyone plans to be out there.
Im heding out to the park at 1ish to do some TT eforts anyone want to join?

4:30-6:30 endurance

Join me.
I'm going to try for 5:30 or earlier; endurance with one paltry 10 minute effort thrown in.
I'm sick as a dog but i wanna do smthg today...
i will likely be out late-ish. 9 or so, for about 60-90 minutes. may do the same as last night: 6x max efforts from start/finish line to the 25 mph sign just past the curve, low tempo the rest of the way around. or, i might just do an endurance pace. will see how it all feels....
I thought it would be raining when I got home, so planned to ride the rollers --but it was lovely outside at ~8pm, so I dashed out to the park... the plan was 1/2 hour skinny warm-up, then 3x2lap TTs. I saw Joe out there while I was spinning around... he was doing endurance work. I said farewell to Joe as I began my first 20 min of work. The wind was pretty strong, but like last week, it was a little cross-tailing on the backstretch which is good methinks. I snotted around the course twice, felt that my 2nd lap was faster, but it wasn't. Did a lap easy, then commenced TT #2. Went a touch easier on lap 1 (passed Joe on the backstretch but didn't say hi... too much snot) and tried to put in the stronger performance on lap 2 --it worked but the total time was almost identical for TT1 and TT2. TT3 didn't happen, as I started getting calf ***cramps*** on my rest lap. Wanted to finish on a good note, and was thinking of sushi in my fridge, so I went home.

Although tonight was toasty warm, the wind seemed super-similar to last week in speed and direction, so I think the effort was about on par --maybe a hair better than last week.

TT1
lap1, 8:22
lap2, 8:29

TT2
lap1, 8:30
lap2, 8:20

*** NOTE FOR ALL YOU KRAMPY KISSENAS: with Battenkill 5 weeks away --I am looking to induce some significant cramping on my long, hard rides in the coming weeks, not because I love cramping but because I believe my race cramping is usually due not having put forth the training efforts that match those of the hard hill races. Yeah, the training effect concept. For those who have more a nutritional situation causing crampiness... try some homemade seaweed gel or something like that.
