Looks like there is interest in a Monday ride over the GWB, with many peeps' offices closed for the MLK Day holiday. I'm in, Jules is in....come one, come all!

I lost the plot after an hour out today in the teens. Toes and finger tips went for a walk and left me behind.

It wasn't that bad!
"Felt like 16" on the west side highway; Whitey "The Destroyer", Tito "The Zen Killer" and Stearns "The Bearded Bandito" and I rolled merrily up to Piermont; all our bottles froze, as did most of our snot, and 37 of our 40 toes. Very civilized coffee/foot warming break at the bakery and we rolled home in a balmy 32 degree clime...

Whitey "The Destroyer" flat out DROPPED me on the Rockland hill while Tito danced away from us both, leaving nothing but a cloud of slightly warmed and deoxegenated air behind him. Apparently "sick" means sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber...

With the sun on us and the wind in our faces we had a lovely romp home - all of us delighted to have ridden - it *did* look a little on the dire side when we awoke after all...

Today was awse. After about two weeks off the bike and another couple of days in bed, getting out there was very necessary. Should've worn the baklava, though; my grill was shattered before I even got off the NJ side of the bridge.

Oh and Jules neglected to mention that he beat me up the climb to state line. Following that dude is a good way to kick out the cobwebs.

Frozen bottles be damned! Great ride yesterday. Jules, Jeff and Tito put the hurt on me, for real. But, hey, the only way to get better is to get your ass kicked. And, thankfully, the "no dropping in under 20-degree weather" rule was in full effect....

It was cold at the outset, but by the time we hit 9W the engines were revved. Felt great to be out on such a crisp, cold day (as Whitey pointed out, the steam plumes over Manhattan were epic).....I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Special kudos to Jules for the tasty rice cake offering at the GWB, which we devoured at Bunbury's.
