CRCA Womens Open Races

From the CRCA folks apparently they're increasing the number of Women's open races, particularly open races for Cat3/4 women. This should help newer women to get quality experience in their early races rather than getting dropped in the first lap.

In an effort to provide greater opportunities for women racers in the area, this year CRCA is proud to announce a significant increase in opportunities for women racers. We will be offering the following women's open race events in Central Park.

- 4/21 - Women's 3/4
- 6/2 - Women's 3/4
- 6/16 - Women's introductory clinic, aimed at new racers
- 6/30 - Women's 3/4
- 7/15 - Women's 1/2/3 (Lou Maltese Memorial)
- 7/22 - Women's 4
- 8/11 - Women's 1/2/3 (Mengoni)
- 8/18 - Women's 4

Due to restrictions placed on us by Central Park, our races generally start just after dawn, which I appreciate makes it difficult for out of town racers to attend, but we hope the opportunity to compete in competitive fields against women's of a similar racing level will be attractive to some.

Details with links to Bikereg etc. is at http://www.crca.net/racing/schedule/ including details of our Men's open races on 6/30, 7/15, 8/11 and 8/18 (Masters)
this is great news

i wish CRCA had agreed to do this two years ago when we were (a) pushing them hard on this, and (b) still had a womens' squad

ladies crew 2.0 in our future?
I'd love to get Grace back in circulation, but that ship has probably sailed.

That said, I'm definitely passing this on to her.
I'm working on getting one of my roommates to start racing. She's been riding the extra trainer with me on weekdays.

Sometimes political pressure takes time to manifest. I think we might take a little credit for this development.
Now we just need to take advantage of it. I'm afraid my "roommate" is a lost cause.
Maybe someone's mom could start racing?
