patrick g. and i have been discussing the possibility of sahring rides to cx races starting next month. if anyone else on the island is interested, we might be able to share the driving and get to more races. anyone interested? hoping to start with whirlybird on 9/25.
i have registered for day 1 at granogue on 10/15, and do not want to ride alone. i can take two (one bike will have to have the wheels removed to fit in my trunk), but i will drive so i do not have to s=do it alone. i am also thinking of spending friday night there, as the 4 race starts at 8:30. anyone interested??
i think i am going to book saturday nite right now, and race sunday....not sure about piling everyone into the car for a rush-hour drive thru jersey pn a friday night. may not be worth racing both days....gotta keep the fam happy.
don't now if the overnite thing is going to work for me. is anyone interested in doing the one day mega drive there and back? my race is at 8:30, and i can take 2.
Hi, I am signed up for the men's B race on both days. I don't have a car and would love to carpool down to granogue and back. Ideally heading down Friday night and returning Sunday afternoon.
Also I have a room booked at the homewood suites down the road for Friday and Saturday night and would be willing to share if someone wants to.
Rich and I are heading down for the 4 race on Saturday which starts at 8:30. I have room in the car for 2 more. Leaving Brooklyn about 4:45. It's an early one. I'd like to be back in Brooklyn by 2:30 so we'll probably head back by noon. Let me know if you're interested.
One of these days, I'm going to cross paths with the rest of you crossers...but I notice that there is "no dogs" policy for this race and as lame as this may sound, it's kind of a deal breaker for me. Also, I'm terrible at riding up and down and across the side of a big hill. I think I'll be up in Troy instead.
As I have not been very Kissena active, I am concerned some might not understand what this race is about.
When you made the decision to race bicycles. This race is what you were thinking about.
Here's my message from last year...
You seen the movies, the pictures, Sunday in Hell, Stars and Watercarriers, Flanders, Robaix. Races that reward more than fitness, skill, instinct. The stuff of legends. Epic hardcore magic.
I'm registered for both days in the CAT IV field (8:30 AM). Sadly, I will not be able to make it either day. I'm willing to transfer my registration free to any Kissene brethren (or sistern [is that a word?]) who's interested--assuming the promoter will allow that. Please let me know if you"re interested and I'll contact the promoter to find out if that's even a possibility.
If nobody takes your spot, maybe you can get one of the guys who signed up after you your number (and hence a better starting position). I see James G., Jim N., Derek, and Rich are after you.
Thanks for the ride offer! I am heading down with Jules and Jeff W. We are heading down Friday night. I think Jules car is full but you could give him a shout.
Like Neil I have a couple of extra spots. I originally registered for the B races both days. Over the past few weeks of racing I realized my mistake and tried to contact the promoter to switch to C. I never heard back, so I signed up for the C races in addition to the Bs.
If anyone knows how to get in touch with the promoter (I tried "fatmarc@bikecentric.com") and wants my B spots I'd be happy to give them to you.
