Michelob Ultra Lance Armstrong Super Bowl Ad... by rosebudmag
If you buy 100 cases of that schwill, Lance will give you Ferrari's email address
TO get a local association to look at a rider for automatic upgrades, email the NJ Bike Racing Association and point out their results (USAC website listed and not-USAC listed). I can only upgrade those from NY.
Eric
Thanks!
Awesome job Mike. Congratulations.
Awesome! That's the way to ride a race guys. Kissena's a major force out there today. Congrat's to all the other teams kicking ass.
Mike,
Great ride. And great ride to the team. Good getting on the first move by Robertson, good on you for making the counter, and good on everyone else for playing the smart team race on a hard day. We've got to be doing stuff like this at every local race.

If you recall, Bremer was the guy who rode away from us at FBF at the end of March.

The dominican with you was Euris Vidal Paulino. He was here with Champ-Sys two years back. Couldn't get out of his own way for a month and hten boom! untouchable. Another new Dominican with Foundation is Rafael Meran. He was on Mengoni last year. Apparently there was some intrigue about him riding for Mengoni again this year and then abandoning Mengoni for Foundation.

Guess we'll be seeing more of this Foundation setup for a while. Bremer, Guzman, Quintero, Paulino, Meran allegedly make up Foundation's "traveling" team.
So Mr. Jacobs tried to take all three jerseys and the 1st place prize $$$...Pigs eat, hogs get slaughtered... I dropped the dime on his sandbagging ass!
Yacks - you sure he qualifies for the automatic upgrade? Looks like he was a 5 not too long ago and a lot of those races were 4/5 races, so only the cat 4 riders in the field count towards upgrade points.

Just saying.
30 points in 12 months is an automatic upgrade...I am not sure he qualifies, but he is SUSPECT. This sounds like a job for a USA Cycling pinkerton. No worries. I'll figure out a way to beat him. Knowing that he is going to compete for everything is going to work to his disadvantage...Sending guys up the road before the sprint and KOM will force his hand. His teammates will have to chase. The weather today had many riders staying home. It is a long series and there are going to be many suprises ahead. "The suspense...I hope it lasts" (Willy Wonka)

I'd go with Michael's take: The Jacobs brothers rode Cat 5 CP SS race 1 like they were on a mission from God. Joe was a powerhouse then—won from a solo off the hill. They no-showed for the next two.
And keep in mind, you don't bank your cat 5 points and bring them to your 4-3 upgrade. You reset to zero. If you are in a 4/5 race as a 4, you might only get 1-4 points for winning. And these short spring races count on the crit/circuit upgrade point schedule. That battenkill win got him a chunk of points though. Takes a long time to get to mandatory upgrade with small fields in circuit races.
I love a good conspiracy theory! I also love stirring a big o'l pot of villifying conjecture...fyi after the race I saw the Jacobs brothers taking turns stepping on a box of kittens.
stepping on kittens is automatic relegation though, probably why they can't upgrade
Congratulations Mike! Again! Looks like we're going to have to add a "Congrats Mike" button to this forum. (not that we don't have other riders getting fine results).

Speaking of results... Eric: the svelte handling of the chase group, then flatting and still getting 8th, very nice!
Nice job racing guys...

congrats to Joe and all!
chapeau david!
Congrats Dave, Adam, John, and all the other Cat 5s who are making these results happen. Pretty damn cool. John, great series win and I'm sure the 4s will be happy to have you.

Dave - riding off the front like that must feel amazing. Congrats.

Looking forward to hearing more great results.

Mike
Nice job, guys. Dave, congrats on the solo win and good teamwork chasing things down and still finishing 4th for Andy!
Sandbag detectives are on the case:
thank you for bringing this to our attention - we will look into it

hoohoo nice racing, boys. big ups to Joe on the KOM!
Since I can't make it this Saturday (daughters Communion) I will throw in some advice for the race. You guys need to force Mr. Jacobs to choose which jersey he wants to defend. He has 2 of 3 jerseys and could conceivably take all 3. You should attack him just beofore the sprint competitions. After the downhill, once you pass the choppy pavment, have 2 riders chosen to luanch an attack and a counter if its caught. Since the KOM usually comes right after the sprint lap, you guys should attack the climb after the sprint. If Jacobs contested the sprint, he is going to be hurting. This will also soften him up for the KOM. On the KOM laps, you should have 1 or 2 riders attack right at the start finish, before the climb. The idea in both cases is to FORCE Jacob's or his teammate to work before they want to. Traditional leadout trains likely won't work as Jacob's is very strong and will simply sit behind them and use them to his advantage. Smoke him out...make him work...hit him hard while he is trying to recover. If you take him with you in a break, he will likely take all the jerseys and the finale. Hit him early, hard and often. From what I saw, he had 1 teammate helping him, so you need to exahust that teammate in the run up to the sprint & KOM's by attacking early. Lastly, putting 2 guys on his wheel wouldn't be a bad idea either. The guy in 3rd place in the sprint competition will be wearing the green kit, so Jacobs might fixate on him. It is a long series, but every point counts. The last 2 years the green jersey came down to the last sprint in the last race. Good luck protecting the polka dot jersey. Fortune favors the bold!
Jorge and I are signed up, anyone else?

Adam
reg'd for sat. thanks for the tips, yacks! we'll try to take some points out of 'em ;)
This will be one of my last races as a 5. I'll be out there helping defend Dave's jersey!
Reg'd. Looking forward to being the Jacobs' personal pain in the ass.

Yack, enjoy the ceremony -- we'll do our best out there.
I know we have Jeff Condon as well.
Shadow and attack. If you ever see him start to work with a teammate, throw down an attack. Force him to chase. Confuse him. Make him decide which jersey he wants. Don't allow him to sit in and follow wheels before a sprint/kom. Launch attacks before the sprint/kom and right after them. Joe can then just sit on the Jacobs and wait for them to respond. Who cares about the Jacob brothers...we have the SCHMITT brothers! God Speed!!!

Oh are they going with polka dot shorts to match the polka dot jersey? Now that is a hot look!
