yeegads, don't mix a margarita and a mint julep. keep 'em separate. rock the mint julep on the down tube and the margarita on the seat tube. i'll bring the bourbon.

Let's see.....where's a place that allows kids and dogs and has good drinks.....LEVEE!!!! Brooklyn Ale House? You always see tons of kids at Radaghast. Mugs? Some bars are weird about it and some aren't. I see kids at Iona outside. No dogs there though. Or at mugs. Leroy can stay at home. He scored last night anyway. Yes, she was 23. Half his age.

Am I racing? Not that what I do can be called that.

The Gate....can't vouch for the quality of their non-beer drinks, but it's got a patio and they are kid-cool.

Been sick all week..giving this one a miss.

I've got tendonitis in my hip, so no racing or high-intensity workouts this weekend. I'll be meeting Woj in Piermont @ 10am tomorrow. Hope some of you guys can make it to welcome him home. Check out the Group Ride thread for details.

Fun and fast race this morning. John, Eric, Joe, Vlad, Jeff, Lenny, Rene, Dave, and myself (did I forget anyone?) in the 3/4 race.

With the 3s not having the option of racing with the 1/2s they showed us 4s how to go a bit faster.

Average speeds for the two PP races last weekend were 24.1 in the L&C 4s and 24mph in the SS 3/4.

Average speed this morning was 26.6mph. Not sure how that compares to a typical 1/2/3 race but I was both loving and hating the speed difference.

Two primes were offered up. The first one we had good position but John got pipped at the line by Johann B.

Guys were off in a lot of breaks but nothing stuck and it came down to a field sprint. Eric started the lead out by the temple, I took over and gave a big dig but when I pulled off there was a string of 6cycles guys on my wheel. The rest of our guys had gotten boxed in. John ended up freelancing it for an 11th place.

Looking forward to the rest of the Mangoseed 3/4 races out there this summer. I encourage more 4s to join in for the next ones.

This is a pretty typical average speed for 1/2/3 races, however, the biggest difference I found when making my way through the racing categories was the intensity of the "on" moments and their length of time at full-on gas. But average speeds tend to hover in the same neighborhood.

Congrats for trying the leadout thing...now you as a team are a little closer to knowing what it's going to take to keep the train going full steam to the finish. Sounds like at least 2 more guys. I'm going to do a little happy dance when you guys get the leadout dialed in to perfection!

that was the fastest race i've ever been in - and also the longest i stayed around in a race that fast. i got dropped lap 6 i think, cruised in with grant from RB. i love racing bikes... even when i only last half the race. missed the post race margarita juleps, but sipping a bourbon now.
