All,

Axis is putting on this race and they have decided to run a 4/5 field, a 1/2/3, a Women's and a Masters 40+. Anyone interested in getting a group together for the masters race?

I would be interested
As far as I've heard, Horace is promoting Greg Avon's races this year. My guess is Axis is paying some cash to put their name on it to fulfill their USAC promoting requirement.

50 miles for a pro123 sounds great, but probably keeps us in the park too long. It also means we'll be lapping the women's field (maybe multiple times). Another reason to have 3 fields max in Prospect Park.

I'm done bitching. I can't race that day anyway. Go kill it in the masters race.
I'm out of town for the weekend. Might even have to miss Riverton.
I'm think of doing that 4/5 race
thinking about the Master's, but wondering if i might be better off in the 4/5....
I'm signed up for the 4/5
I'm planning to do this. I'll do 4/5 or masters. Any consensus?
I'm probably doing the masters
David
I'm more likely to do the masters.
40+ FOR me
Cool, i'll join you all for the masters. Any other takers?
Registered for Masters.
I'm reg'd for Masters.
sadly too young for the 40+ so i guess I have to figure out whether I want to risk my skin in a 4/5 race in PP with 3 other fields.
I don't think there are three other fields. The women are racing with the masters, doing one less lap. That leaves only 1/2/3 and 4/5.
mmm...I'm in the same boat as Dan on this one.

On the fence.
Or am I mixing metaphors?
my fence sitting was made easier by the fact that Cat 4/5 is now closed....i'm in for the Masters....
i'm the masters too.
No racing for me this weekend. which is good because I've been working stupid hours here and haven't gotten on a bike since last friday.
Only two masters spots left......
I'm in for the 4/5 spectacle.
Christian 2nd place in the 4/5 and Ragot 2nd in the Masters. Good day for Kissena!
Way to go Kaiser!
Ragot is definitely on a tear these days.
Pictures?
Here's a pic from the race. Just in case you didn't now how good (read: expensive) these wheels are this guy left the price tag on.
Nice work Ragot and Christian!
Short story. Bridged to large break with 9 to go. Whittled it down to 9. Legs bad. Sprinted and beat by Jan for 2nd. Picked a $25 prime along the way.
You are killing me.
Two line race reports are for communists and Mengoni.
Large field of 85 masters + 15 or so women. 13 laps (I think). Few attempts at breaks on every lap. Kissenas and especially Eric are near the front covering moves. 9 to go, a large group moves off the front (20+). Too large to really succeed from  the perspective of the field. Indeed, after a couple of laps, the majority of that break is reabsorbed. Unbeknownst to us, a group of 9 had formed off the front of that break containing Eric, a couple of Denos, an Axis, a TargetTraining and Brauer. All the major teams were represented. From the field, we did not see this break form, but by the time the other large break was reabsorbed, they apparently already had a good gap. The first time check I heard was 1:30! Not much more happened in the field after that.

One notable thing was that the women finished 1 lap BEFORE the majority of the field. It was nice to see the Masters hold back and allow the 15 or so women to emerge from the field and form a sort of breakaway that constituted their sprint. Particularly nice was the last (somewhat incompetent) women who was stuck in the middle. Once the field parted for her (it wasn't clear she wanted to leave), one of the Masters riders offered to chaperone her up to the rest of the women, who were 50m up the road. She never really made it, but it was a nice gesture.
