Does anybody want to go for Primes? We should probably setup for a leadout for at least a couple of those. with 6 guys we could put some hurt on the field going up HH with a big effort on one or two of these. Our team so far looks to be a strong set of roulers who could put together a killer HH leadout and save a few folks for some other efforts. I am willing to drill it up the hill if somebody wants to go for the prime?

Also good opportunities to breakaway by countering the primes over the top of HH. There may be an opportunity to do that with 2 laps to go.

Just because I want you all to know how heroic I (and Christian, probably Patrick too) am, every PP race involves a 4 am wake up in order to get in from Long Island.  Just saying.

I'm glad to see guys are doing this race. I have to work, but the prospect of doing 9.2 laps in CP is almost enough for me to call in sick!

Seriously though, if you can, you should definitely make this race because, while CP is interestingly and ironically (considering it is a 10k loop) the most "crit-ish" course we have in Brooklyn/Manhattan, 7 or 9 laps, well that changes a lot.

How'd it go this morning, boys?

It was pretty clear early that it was going to be a sprint or a late move. With a lap to go Ragot moved us up into position at the front, and then followed a move. His small group seemed like it was going to win it, but unfortunate they were neutralized on the hill before finally being let pass the women's field. Despite this, they were caught pretty late in the game, maybe 1/2 a mile from the finish. Bummer.

I was surfing wheels getting ready for the final sprint when I went down. I'm not really sure exactly what happened, (I think the sixcycles guy got it on camera) but the field pushed to the right, I tried to move up left, but a guy bounced off the bunching group and came across and swept my wheel. It happened really fast so I'm not sure if I overreacted or it was just unavoidable.

I put myself in the "Don't run over me tuck" and luckily Ragot stopped himself and directed traffic around me.

Initially it hurt pretty bad, but now I'm realzing I'm totally fine except some bruising and pretty minor road rash. The bike looks fine too, some scuffed up shifters, hoods, and saddles.

John finished right outside the top 10. Vlad had what Eric and I thought was his best ream race of the season. He stayed pretty close to the front. Made / Covered moves and was up front with 1 lap to go.

Christian struggled a bit on the downhill and got himself gaped. No big deal, just something to work on.

You and Al had a sleepover?  Why wasn't I invited?  Did you have popcorn and cola and watch rated R movies?

The 4 race was seemingly destined for a field sprint, but since I'm not good at that, it was time to try and get in every single break and ride at the front for a change.  Got in the move of the day, but it was just a bit slow (much better than last week's though) and had some dead weight.  At first it seemed great b/c it had 6-7 guys, representing most of the larger squads: a BH, ARC, Rockstar, Siggis, NYC Velo, me, and an hispanic guy who's team I didn't recognize.  Which meant there would be lots of blocking! No Foundation or Sids though.

Anyway, we were away for 2-3 laps (Centrals laps are much longer than ye ole Prospect!), but guys started popping off, and then it was just me, Velo (who was the weaker than Rockstar and ARC dudes, but tried his guts out), Siggis, hispanic guy (they were the two strongest).  I'd been laying low on the primes, trying to save energy b/c I had the delusion that this break would work, but I should've nabbed the one I could have.

Sorry I didn't deliver guys.  I know you all blocked your asses off.  I really appreciate it.  I'm still fat, but down 5 lbs. 10 to go!

Aly went down (what's with all the crashing?! Stop it!) during the inevitable cat 4 field sprint crash, but seemed fine.

Oh, bizarre post-race "interaction" with Ariel from Champ-Sys (who I like very much) and JP.  Congrats to JP for remaining calm and being mature, not stooping to the aggro-insult level.  I guess JP just told him to keep his hands on the bars during the last part of a race, and as per usual, any advice or criticism in the confines of a bike race are tantamount to a degrading insult. 

So weird, b/c a couple of times I got bumped onto the rec-lane paint lines (not even into them) and some dude just said "Hey, watch the joggers' lane. The paint is considered part of it." and I just said "yeah, totally, I just got squeezed out".  I didn't lay into him as if he had kicked my dog.  Leroy kill a muthafukka.
