Also good opportunities to breakaway by countering the primes over the top of HH. There may be an opportunity to do that with 2 laps to go.

@dc/Joe. I'm sure there'll be a bunch of no-shows—just get there at 4.30, no-prob's!Sorry John.
stupid people will rule the world!
eventually.
Mike has the race about right. The field was starting to crawl along the west side, similarly to last week. So instead of doing nothing, when Paul Carbonara of Axis attacked (with Chris Shaw of FGX up the road with Marc Ceasare trying to bridge), I went after Paul. My goal was simple, be the leadout and force other teams to chase. John was there to take care of Mike.
I caught Carbo, kept the pace up, caught Marc, kept going, caught Shaw and then eased off. The break was together and I led down the hill by the pool. As we came out of that hill, our pace moto slowed us and kept us neutralized until almost the top of the hill. So, we had to climb the hill at the speed of the women (second time we passed them and they started four minutes ahead of us).
We worked pretty well together, Shaw was hurting. At Tavern, we still were out of sight of the field, so I thought we had a shot, but by horseshit alley, we could see them. It was then we needed to pick up the pace, and we tried, but by 65th st, the others had given up. I kept it in a big gear and gave it everything I had, but got caught at 72nd st.
I picked Mike up from there.
Probably a win if the moto didn't screw up.
Funny - the women came by to finish and they simply were shrieking at each other about holding lines...
I'm wiped.
Much better execution as a team this time out.
