After hearing Vlad embrace Qarqs, TT bikes and triathlons yesterday at length - I have to ask:

HOW DID today's 0.9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run go ?

keithprice - how about your race ?
Thanks for asking Josh.

I have to say that I like bike racing much better, but I'm happy that I got to try one. It was an interesting and fulfilling experience, although I'm not sure that I'll be doing another.

Definitely a test of endurance. It's an amazingly well run race in a beautiful setting. The whole community comes out too. Tri-dork paradise.

Results bro. I'm happy with them.
Vlad. You did THAT?! Ouch ouch ouch. I am a proponent of trying everything once, but that looks . . . well, fulfilling is not necessarily what comes to mind.
Nice work Vlad. Looks like you finished strong on the bike
Thanks guys.

All the suffering of bike racing without the thrill.

I missed this, my two cents...

It was a good experience. Overall I thought of it as a good workout more than a race. BUT... I have no bike racing in my background and was the fattest/most out of shape in my life maybe six months ago. I signed up for this thing so I would have something specific to train toward, and it worked in that regard.

The race itself was a good way to spend a Sunday. Nice scenery, lots of people cheering us on, kids handing me cups of water/Gatorade. I don't know if I'll do it again, but I'm glad I did it at least once. Next I want to work on my bike skills and see about doing some racing in the spring.

Nice work Keith!  Push and you'll find most of us have a goofy picture in a wetsuit and cap somewhere...

nope not me. I have goofy pictures though!

good work guys.
Great job on the Tri! Cycling is so much more fun. But finishing a Tri is an amazing feeling.
Thanks Mark. Dorky pictures coming soon!
I recommend doing a half Ironman distance at least once. I did the Poconos half Ironman 2 weeks ago and finishing that was amazing. Also, it's fun to pass hundreds of people on the bike section :)
Thanks Mark! Yeah, was an accomplishment for me...that's for sure. Less than a year ago I could barely run the Prospect Park loop. At the moment I don't have any real desire to do another, but I could be convinced if a friend wanted to train for one or something like that. And yes, I would likely want to step it up to a half Iron Man. The Olympic distance was good, but I would want to push myself more if I was going to bother with another. Thing is, I won't be passing that many people on the bike. I'm about a third slower than Vlad ;-)
As promised and in their dorkiest glory, I present you with some pictures.
love the sweatband!
Reminds me, didn't post mine...

I've been wondering why this thread keeps getting bumped up, and with the pics, I can see why.  But don't you guys know to tri' in a Kissena skinsuit?
Oh, skinsuit would've crushed! Too bad mine was defective.
