Winter Computrainer Rides

1252 comments · 9491 views
Hey guys,

This winter I'm planning on starting group Computrainer rides where I do training in my home studio (1 mile south of the park).

First, I'm not trying to compete with Ride Brooklyn (our sponsor), but I'd like to get your feedback on what you liked or thought could be improved at their computrainer sessions.

From what I remember, we had a Kissena reserved ride every week at Ride Brooklyn. Did these fill up? I'm planning a weekly schedule for the Computrainer rides and if there is a need, plan a time for Kissena.

I'm expecting most of the computrainer rides I'll do will be riders from the charity rides that I coach, but it'd be great to have some Kissena riders there.

Thanks,

Mark
Hi. We have a last minute slot open for tonight's 8:00 computrainer session at Ride Brooklyn. If you or someone you know would like to participate and can make it to the shop by 7:45, please call me at 917-579-6580 and if we haven't filled the slot by then, you/they are in. Thanks. Neil
I will do a basement ride today about 9:30.
If anyone would like to join me, I have a spare trainer and rollers.
You could also bring your trainer if you prefer.
Let me know if you would like to join.

I'm going to ride indoors from 8 to 9:30pm. I've got rollers, a trainer, and even a spinning bike if someone wants to ride.

I'm a mile south of Prospect Park.

Hey all - Each winter some folks do an indoor Computrainer class at Ride Brooklyn (468 Bergen St, right off of Flatbush).
Last year we did Wednesday nights, 8pm, from December to March. It was about $15 or so a class I believe. Neil organized this last year, this year I am going to be the sucker...ahem, organizer.

Both start and end dates are negotiable - but most likely we will do this year from Wed Dec 7th to Wed Feb 29th, and then evalute if we want to extend to March (and evaluate again for April if we want it).
1 or 2 week holiday downtime is probably in the works based on how many folks are out of town around Christmas.

We can do nights or mornings, and various days of the week , all based on how many people are interested. Right now we have 6 folks, so we are probably going to do the Wednesday night 8pm slot again, but if we get more #s, we can look into additional slots.

Come join us and keep your fitness going all winter. Most of the guys actually come out of this stronger (never mind baseline) - I know I sure as hell did.

Open to non-kissena friends as well.

Shoot me an email if you want more info. I will call Ride Brooklyn tomorrow to confirm current availablilty and rates.

Someone wittier than I please respond with some good reasons to come do this.

thank you.

The Pain the pain.
Thank you tatoo. I know the pain is here. Now let's go meet our guests.
Im defnitly intrested maybe erlyer would be beter like 7?
7pm
For whatever it's worth, regrettably I wouldn't be able to make 7:00 sessions. (I don't leave work in Manhattan 'til 6:30 or later.) Understood though that if you can fill the seession at 7:00 rather than 8:00, gofor it.
neil are you still putting a trainer session together? Also Josh 8 would be better for me.
Joe - I am the young padawan learning from Neil's Jedi ways . Same group doing the Computrainer, I am going to collect the $$, communicate with ride brooklyn, etc in Neil's place.

Nosson - 8pm seems to be the magic hour for most folks due to work\childcare\etc time constraints. Are you still in for an 8pm slot ? Join us!
This sounds like a great idea but, alas, I will not be able to attend during the week as I live on Long Island. I would, however, be very interested in possible additional weekend sessions. I'm not sure if anyone else is (either day is good for me) but if you want to start a list entitled 'Those keen on a weekend training session', please put me on it.
Sounds good Josh if we can do 8pm I'm in.
i'm down for the 8 p.m. like last year. escape from alcatraz!

Eric
Ryan

Stearns
Jorge
Neil

I confirm my attendance...
Thanks Josh!
Hey guys - we have Wed at 745pm . Basically we have last years setup again. I'll get an email out with the details in the morning.
So yeah, thats nine folks for eight slots. Based on order of interest, I think Derek is the odd man out.

Derek\Nosson\Jules\rest of club - we often will need alternates, so if you want to jump in when folks can't make it, I'll be sure to let you know.

1 Neil Ross
2 Jorge Aguilo
3 David Stearns
4 Eric Ragot
5 Joshua Caesar
6 Joe Mueller
7 Ryan Johnston
8 Jeff White
9 Derek Chiles

a Nosson possibly interested for an earlier slot
b Jules looking for a morning spot
c Adam looking for a weekend spot

time:
We are reserved for 7:45pm . They would prefer this over 8pm since we ran late last year (yes, I am the offending slow poke on that). If 7:45 is an absolute deal breaker for folks we can do 8, they just dont prefer it.

dates:
- We can start any week we want - how is Wed Dec 7th for everyone ? too early\too late?
- We can go straight through the holidays or plan a week off - but they want to get an idea in advance so they can determine their staffing\vacation schedule

cost:
there is some question about a tax rule change - so they *think* they know the rate, but due to the tax it may bump up slightly. For now, it is $70 a month per person ($17.50 a week).

payment:
I'll have to setup Paypal I guess - but if everyone that is in can give me $70 cash or check at Supercross this weekend (assuming you are going) , that will cover our deposit for month one.

contact info:
my email and cell are jcaesar.bike@gmail.com, 646-235-2336.
Please send me your contact info via email .

thanks all.
Josh- December 7 works for me but I'm flexible. Sadly I won't be at Supercross this weekend, but can Paypal you for month 1 as soon as you're set up in Paypal or I can mail you a check if need be. Let me know which is preferable.

Alternates-For whatever it's worth, in prior years of dping this, we had to fill at least one (often more) empty spot(s) most every week, so hopefully there willl be lots of opportunities to get rides in.
ok if there is an empty spot let me know.

If we wanted to put together an earlier session, there may be enough interest from the otherwise employed.
Anyone interested in 6?
I would do a 6PM slot. Anyone else?
I had said all along that I'd prefer the 6pm. So if a 6pm develops I'll do that and someone can have my spot in the 8 session.
