Thank you for your comments guys! I went to Allaire State Park down the Jersey Shore and had an amazing time with this bike.

New bike is the best day!

Ended up getting a 105 Solost because I couldn’t find a frame in my size. Stripped all the parts off, reran the hoses since they were long enough for the internally routed bars and then swapped my wheels, groupset, saddle and bars over. Took about a day but she’s up and running!

I think we're gonna need to have a New Bike ride soon for all the new rides.

Picked up a new to me 2008 Ritchey Breakaway Cross. The original owner definitely didn't use it much and set it up with campy 10spd. I picked up newer Ritchey finishing kit and some cheap SRAM 10spd pieces and turned it into a 1x making it compatible with all my other bikes. Geometry is a road bike and the rear chain stays are old school cross, so just wide enough to accommodate 35s with knobs. Still need to cut the steerer and maybe put on bottle cages that don't completely clash.

Only a short test ride after I put it all together but it feels... very much like my other steel frames including my Panasonic made 86 Schwinn Peloton I raced with during my first season with Kissena, which is to say excellent and predictable. I have to take it out on Cunningham another day to see how it fares on single track but I expect it to be like my Schwinn Crosscut rat bike that you've all seen me on for years.

I can't wait to do spring training camp with you all on this thing!

The breakaways are sort of genius in how little the breakaway part affects the whole of the bike. Highly recommend.

David, I'm glad to see another Ritchey Breakaway Cross in the club! It's a masterful bicycle. I've had the titanium breakaway cross since around 2012, and have taken it all around. It's probably paid for itself in saved airline fee savings, and afforded me the chance to go on great rides, seeing beautiful places, meeting wonderful people, while on family vacations. I hope it does the same for you. And I have to give props to Ritchey for also being kind and responsive when I recently asked about new seat post bolts. Over years, mine got a little round on the inside. They quickly replaced them for free, and were very friendly. 
My Breakaway has mostly Campy 10 speed, with a wolf tooth derailleur extender to hit a 29 on my short cage rear derailleur. It also runs 30mm Schwalbe G-One Speed tires since I mostly roll on roads and light gravel. The bike rolls as well today as it did when I first built it up. They should really make this frame again. It's fun. Here it is in Croatia, where my family vacations a few times a year, and where we'll soon be living permanently in Zagreb. 

 

Man that is awesome! The TI version is the manifestation of my "forever bike" but they rarely come on market because... well they are forever bikes for everyone!

How did you choose the Flint out of all the gravel bikes out there?  

@mugwump I knew I wanted a titanium bike, but the budget was below $5k. I picked this over Lynskey because it has fully internal cable routing, a UDH and T47 bottom bracket for only a few hundred dollars more. I also of course considered a steel ritchey swiss cross but my gut told me this was the move.

This is also my first time running a wireless group set, and my first time running TUBELESS!
