My new bike is getting here tomorrow. BMC Teammachine with the new 12 speed Ultegra Di2. The anticipation is killing me.

I finally got around to getting the new bike mostly dialed in. It's bone stock at the moment. The saddle has to go as soon as I can get my hands on another Spesh Power Arc. I'm also planning on swapping the rubber for some tan wall GP 5000's and getting better wheels.

I took it for a quick spin around the block today. It's great fun to ride and handles very differently than my TCR Pro. The Teammachine feels very planted and steady whereas the TCR is twitchy (in a good way). I think the Teammachine will be great on road races and longer rides and the TCR will be the crit machine.

And the new 12 speed Di2 is amazing. I've never used electronic shifting before, but now I get the hype.

Thank you to the Kissenas who helped me with this build via advice or selling me parts. I rode it for the first time today with clipless pedals and it is so fast and fun. I’m very excited about this bike.

Not new bike day, but new frame day. Spent the morning swapping all the components off my aluminum LeMond frame onto this Titanium LeMond frame.

Weighs in at 19.5lb with bottle cages and pedals. Still trying to figure out the fit in the front, so forgive the extra spacers (also need to flip one bottle cage, whoops)

I saw the TI frame up on eBay a few weeks ago and couldn’t pass up buying it and taking on a bike build project.

Damn that is a grail frameset!

Picked up this 3T Exploro Team up yesterday at Redbeard! Big thanks to Ilya and Kasia for helping me out with the ordering process and making new bike day a special event.

I took the bike out for a foggy road ride to the Market and back today and I am super impressed. This is my first bike with a carbon frame, first with discs, and first with electronic shifting. The rival AXS group is really good value. I especially love the brown color which is reminiscent of the brown on 1980s Porsche 911s.

The plan is to keep it stock for now except for going tubeless.

Can’t wait to take her out on a lot of gravel over the summer.

New Cyclocross Bike Day!

A Crux in my size showed up in Hilltop inventory when I was meeting with them and I didn’t hesitate to put down a deposit. Today I took it out for its maiden voyage. Wow this thing seems to smooth out the bumps way more than my Van Dessel and handles like a good road bike. I also appreciate the SRAM AXS. As much as I like my SRAM mechanical, this works really well. I’m impressed so far.

New old bike day! This is my first ever road bike circa 2009 and had the hardware to match (some old shimano sora that I didn’t like then and like even less now). Upgraded the drivetrain to sram rival 22, some new bar tape (I’m changing this to a more fun color/texture because I’m not loving this one) and gave her some TLC in the way of cleaning and regreasing everything. She’s going to live out her days as my trainer bike now.

I would suggest saving the re-taping until you are certain you've got the bar height correct and the brifters in the right place.  The cable housing are looking a bit long and could be shortened after some use compresses them a bit, but you shouldn't cut the housing again until you are certain that neither the bar height nor lever position is going to move.

@mugwump I reused the cable housings that were originally on the bike partially out of laziness and partially because they're in decent shape, but they could definitely stand to be replaced sooner than later. 

I rode it this morning and the fit was pretty dialed, so I don't foresee anything changing in any substantial way. But with that said, I always drape a towel over my bars to catch sweat and it alleviated the texture issue I have with the tape, so replacing it isn't really a priority at this point. Once I decide to change the tape, I'll probably end up replacing the housing too

After a long wait it’s finally built - Mosaic RT-1D in Deep Sea Green. Moved all the parts from the Cervelo (which is still for sale btw 😉) over to the new frame. Only thing left to do is get the matching gold Seatpost collar. Big thanks to Ilya at Readbeard!

@GregHoge - Rides super nice. Has that low rumble you get from riding steel without all the weight. Obviously fit is mint as well. Overall just a great ride. Can't wait to put some real miles on it in the next couple weeks
