Great! I think weds is best
How about Wednesday, Nov 4th, 7-9pm at Lavender Lake.  They serve sixpoint.  Who can be there?  We need representation @Kristin Negele @Kristina Miele @JulieJones!  :)
I was chatting with Kasia at Redbeard about doing a no-drop halloween social ride to the Rockland Psychiatric center. https://goo.gl/maps/eKjKGMf3zqQ2

Most of it's in a state of ruin, but one section is still in use I think. JP likely has the skinny on whether you can still ride through it. I'd be up for leading it.
You can ride through it! We did this summer!
@Jill Sink I can be there Nov. 4th. Love the idea of getting a solid women's group going. Also- what are all of your schedules for morning rides? I know Jill has been using her commute and Julie is in Manhattan, but maybe a weekly weekday morning PP ride? I know I could use the weekly schedule to get back on track after a ton of traveling late summer.

@Kristin Negele I'm down for Yoga too, I usually try to go @ brooklyn boulders, but down to try other places!
I can be at the happy hour on the 4th!   We did ride through Rockland Psychiatric this summer with JP, was soooo fun!
I'm available Wedneday the 4th!

@Kristina Miele I'm down for a morning PP ride. I have such a hard time getting up in the morning. I need someone to keep me accountable.
Yes, lets pick a day... do Wednesday mornings work for you? We can start next week- I am in the exciting Des Moines, Iowa this week for work :)

John,
Julie is right, I took a group through it in the summer.  In terms of getting in and through, it's pretty easy.  The car entrances are always open, though not the fun way to get in.  I prefer using the rusting pedestrian gates and the street that connects them for maximum creepiness.  The folks hanging out waiting for meds are not on the payroll, so I can't guarantee their presence.
@Kristina Miele Wednesday mornings generally work for me. Hope you're having fun in Des Moines!
How cool is this?!  Thanks so much @JohnMalcolmson for making the poster and @eloy
for the photo!  We've posted this on our social media and in the past 12 hours have had a pretty good response!
Wow!!! That is awesome! Thanks John!!!
Looks awesome. Jill- do you need any help setting up or anything?
PS Jill- since when are you a kit model :)  haha just saw your face pop on on PDF... lookin fly!
Thanks, Kristina!  The Pretty damned fast shoot was super fun and it turned out really cool!  @eloy was the photographer too!  As far as the social goes, I don't think there will be much set up.  I will have a sign in sheet to get people's email addresses and level of experience and interest.  That is pretty much it!  We should probably bring some Kissena parapharnelia as well.
I think it could be a good idea to have a Meet Kissena ride on Saturday Nov 7th or Sunday Nov 8th following the women's social to see if the women who are interested in joining the team can hang on a group ride.  Hopefully there isn't snow by then!

I can do Nov8th but I work on the 7th (I work every other Saturday)!  We can also do the following weekend as I'm off both days:-)

I can only do Nov 7th weekend and then I'm out until Dec 4th.
Ok can you do the 8th?

yes.
You guys: sorry I've been so quiet. I'm pregnant. Out of riding for awhile.
Due in late March but will try to get back on my bike as soon as I can
after that.
Meredith

Not sure how many of you are aware, but before she was a stud CX and road pro, BrittLee Bowman was an active member of Kissena. This weekend BrittLee Bowman is going to be racing one of the biggest CX races in the world. Koppenberg Cross. Of further interest this race is sponsored primarily by a bike shop in BALTIMORE, MD and was the first (and may still be the only) race to offer equal prize lists for men and women.

I should also mention, unlike other distinguished KCC alums who pretty much were winning everything in site from day one on the team before the quickly moved onto other teams, (e.g. Neil Bedzdek) BrittLee was just like you. For years. Going on group rides, racing locally, doing well here and there. It's really only been the last 2 or so years that she's blown up to the big time.

Anyway, I'm not sure if are going to be webcasting the race, but give her a cheer, at least in your head from over here on Sunday!
Ok folks, before anyone starts to hyperventilate - I bleed orange & blue and I'm not going anywhere. Unfortunately I don't ONLY bleed team colors I'm also drowning in kit. Some of it still in bags.

So step right up and GET SOME (all are older sponsor editions)

Jersey (short sleeved, Medium) $25 used, $30 still in bag (airlite & edge styles)
Jersey (long sleeved, Medium) $30

Fleece arm warmers (medium) free if you buy a jersey

Congratulations Meredith! That's so exciting! I'm due soooon. Mid December.
We plan on taking her out for rides once she can sit up. Maybe we can add

Please keep us posted.

Congratulations ladies!
Thank you!
Congrats moms to be!! Have you guys ever heard of baby doping....hehehe!
^from what I can tell it's called red wine. Now excuse me while I tend to the brood...

Lavender Lake event is tonight 7-9p!  Super stoked!
Just to note how great last night was. The turnout was awesome. It would be a dream if everyone that showed up joins Kissena. What a sweet, kick ass, great energy crowd. Can't wait for what next season will bring.

Thanks so much Jill for putting this together, and Kristin, Kristina, Kasia, Lisa, Julie for being there --- I left honestly proud to be part of Kissena and your teammate. Thanks.
