Thanks so much, Eloy!  Last night was a blast!  It was great to meet so many women who are excited about racing bikes.  Thanks to Kristina, Kristin, Julie, Kasia, Eloy, Jules, and Jeff for being there to answer questions and provide a spectacular Kissena presence!

The women will be sent an email today about membership and also about future group rides.  We're planning on doing laps in PP at 9am this Saturday and a group ride to Piermont Sunday.  It'd be great to have anyone who is in town (men and women) join us!
Mark your calendars!

Seriously awesome event last night guys!  I had a great time hanging with you guys and chatting with some new recruits. Thanks Jill for organizing!  I'm all in for this Sunday the 8th, Saturday the 14th, and likely Sunday the 29th.
I'm pretty much with Eloy about the event. What a quality group of cyclists. Look forward to having some of them as teammates. And of course big props to Jill for setting it up!
Rapha has a Women's Braver than the Elements ride on December 12.

I think it would be fun if we all did this!  I signed up!

You should really strongly consider coming to this event!  Especially because it has our name on it ;)

^Laura Van Gilder is either the, or the second WINNINGEST AMERICAN BIKE RIDER EVER.
Man woman or child. She's amazing. Still racing, still crushing the dreams of kids half her age.

(She also has like elevety gagillion dogs, if you're into that)
PSA from Kasia

From a friend:
A friend of mine was attacked by a group of kids on the hill in Prospect Park up towards GAP tonight. They lined up across the road and pushed him towards the running lane, where they had set up a log. Luckily for him, he was able to bunny hop over the log, and got to the police quickly. At least a couple of the kids were caught. He’s fine, glad he had the cycling skills to evade them.

This is an especially dark spot on the road, so beware, and tell anyoneyou know who cycles in the park at night.

We have a number of new additions to our Women's team just in the past two weeks - Welcome Alicia, Tatyana, and Evelyn!

I think it would be awesome to get together in early December to have everyone meet each other, discuss winter training, and chat about the upcoming season.

Would Wednesday, December 9th work?  7pm?  Location suggestions are welcome!
Thanks for posting.
Count me in for a women's team meet and greet on December 9th - looking forward to meeting everyone. Also, does anyone ride in Central Park during the week - like weekday mornings? Looking for a partner in crime to log a few laps before my workday.

And our Manhattan contingent grows. Yay! Also, I'm still in shock that someone else on the team dares to say, "crits are my thing." Anyway, a whole thread for CP weekday riders:

I'm in for the get together as well!! I'll prob be down for some CP laps...likely Tuesday and Thursday morning for me. Maybe we can get a steady Manhattan contingent going on a regular basis to do some pace-lining etc....Holler!
Reminder that there is a Meet Kissena Ride tomorrow!  7 of the 16 signed up are women!  So, let's show some great women's team representation!

As always 8am BB, 9am GWB.  The prospects will all be meeting on the NJ side of GWB.  Hope to see you there!
Hope everyone had fun on the group ride! Sorry to have missed it, was still up north with family until late this afternoon.
For next Wednesday, does the Manhattan contingent want to choose a place for us to meet?  7pm?  Otherwise, I would suggest Lavender Lake again, but that's in BK  ;)  Also, please RSVP here on this thread if you're going to be able to make it.  So far we have:
Alicia
Julie
Kristina
I received a suggestion for the Cannibal (They don't advertise it but the name is a play on time trialling and sell Continental tires and drink bottles in the bar!).  Sounds like a cool place.  It's in Murray Hill.
Emma Ming arrived Thanksgiving!
!!! Woo hoo!!!
The Continental sounds good! Congratulations Daniella!
Sorry I mean the Cannibal! But I do love Continental tires!
Cannibal is a great place. Also the back garden has a bunch of cycling/Roubaix references.
