I didn't know what to expect.  I haven't raced in Jersey since 2019 I think and I did somehow line up behind Eloy but ahead of Aspholm and Warmuth.  I felt out of it at the start, not a good thing, and I got stopped in the first sandpit on the first lap and that cost quite a bit.   But I was suddenly feeling that this sorting out was a good thing, even if I was on the wrong side of it.   I was hoping that I could use the open space to close down people.

I wasn't that strong, though I did chase down several riders, mostly 40+, and found myself surrounded by mostly 40+ riders.  But the bad start meant I had only three people get away from me the rest of the race, which is an odd feeling.  Two were in my field, and finished 17th (24s ahead) and 18th (6s ahead), one was the 60+ winner.

Need to find my lap times to see if my experiences match my times.

Looking forward to the next race. Who is heading to cooper River?

Bump!

HPCX is this Sunday  https://www.bikereg.com/hpcx

Registration closes Friday, October 13, at 5pm

So far, we've got:

Dave Yang in the 3/4 race, aka Race 2

Tom Feehan in the 50+ and Thierry in the 60+, which is Race 4

Anyone else?

eloy, patrick, Mark, Jim Nelson, Jim Feehan?
I'm leaning towards the 3/4s but may have a family thing sunday morning so holding off on registering for the moment.
I am dying to race, but everything suggests that I should take a weekend off. So I'll skip racing this weekend.

HPCX is an amazing venue and course, marked in the last few seasons, as most of you know, by sandpits. The bit of rain expected Saturday should make the sandpits more rideable, perhaps neutralizing them completely. Go race bikes! Will be fun!

#FOMO
Sadly will probably need to skip.

HPCX?
GReat course.  Sad to miss it this year.
While sand pits are my nemesis, I am very likely to be there in the Masters 50+
I'm in for the 3/4s and fully expect to bin it at some point in the sand pits
