If AVD is to be trusted, I'm 8th in teh series overall. I did some math on my own, and I think I'm in 10th in the overall, and 7th in the pro/am. I'd love some help this Sunday. Also, those if the III/IV can deny Sniadowski points, that's a help as well.

Dahlhof, Rooney, Schneider ARE PRE-REGISTERED.

Foundation seems to be bringing numbers tomorrow. eight guys, including Bremer, Vidal, Meran, Quintero, Guzman.

6th. A slower race today, lot's of up and down. Brian rode strong and near the front most of the race and covered moves. I took a couple of digs lap two, but eager beavers dragged the bunch up. Last lap it was all on for a messy bunch sprint. When I kicked I got blocked a couple of times and didn't get a chance to sprint. Felt like a dumbass for not getting the right wheel. Should have moved up earlier (before columns).

AVD didn't fail to lower my expectations: We waited 1.5 hours, he forgot to present trophies to Cat 5, no trophy for the series winner (that would be me), iphone podium photo, had to ask for results to be read out... I'm almost done... Had to ask for prize (ball cream). Still no results or series points from last two races. Poetry!

Appreciate all the selfless work, help and encouragement from the team. Huge thanks to you all: Adam, Andrew, Brian, Jorge, David S., David V., Adam, McKay, Jef, Jeff, Josh, Dan, Yon. If any of you want a medium LS leaders jersey it's yours.

Well deserved!!

Kissena started with just two, Myles and JP. I missed the start. Damn. Big, fast field, with a few new-ish faces to the spring racing scene. In a post race breakdown, JP and former Kissena Zeb Nelison agreed, "no one was racing to win, everyone was racing to not lose." After a season of good aggressive, breakaway rich racing, today was a throwback to the usual park racing b.s.

Myles was covering early moves, but the rain soaked roads were unkind to many, and Myle's tire couldn't escape an unfortunate flat.

JP reported feeling a little out of synch, but from this observers point of view, he was looking comfortable at the front of the field for most of the race. With 3 laps to go, a move finally escapes containing 7 of the field's stronger riders, including Gavi Epstein, Lisben Quintero and 2 of his Foundation teammates. The had 20 seconds within a lap and never relinquished the lead.

After the dust settled, despite not placing today in the field sprint, JP still managed 7th place in the overall series 1/2/3 category, and he suspects one or two out of the money in the bizarro, combined category overall standings.

I really wanted into the money. I was 7th in the 1-2-3 overall and 11th in the multi-category overall. Wanted to defend 7th and move up to at least 10th, so I could figure in both prize lists.

Thanks to Marc and Myles who toughed it out with me for most of the series. And Eric, Mike, and William who filled in some.

The day was looking negative when Gavi stomped up the hill second time up and just about everyone killed themselves to keep him close, and then sat up.

It was also odd as Mengoni almost seemed to be riding against their teammate and series leader Brian Breach. They did little to help, and even helped chase him down. Not that Brian was riding smart today.

And Foundation almost did the same, they chased down their own riders in a threatening break so they could get the riders they wanted in the final break. Then again, they were the deepest team in the race, Alex Bremer, who won the early FBF race was only their third or fourth strongest.

My errors were not being consistent about good positioning--I was slipping back as guys who were guaranteed breakaway riders were holding back as well--and being out of position for the break that went. I figured it would go around when it did, I just expected to have to make the move, not be too far back.

While it was good to see Zeb, it was his savvy brother Gui who I was talking with.

Last year, I was 11th in the multi-category spring series overall. I think I was 11th or 12th this year as well.

I love this race. I am down for it. Also for taking LIRR out with folks.

Plans for this weekend? Eric and I are both probably doing the Kissena Sports race: Big Apple Bicycle Classic. For me that is my only option as I work starting at 9AM Saturday.

I'm leaning towards heading to Lancaster County for the Turkey Hill RR on Saturday. A reasonable drive to do in one day. A hard rolling course. I've gone with JP in the past. If I did this race, Sunday would be more about active recovery.

As far as I'm concerned, Kissena has won every "team throwdown" so far this season. I do find it ironically hilarious that a guy who can't even post results/standings with any kind of timeliness or accuracy is going to try to score a team-driven event. During one weekend in CP he tried to explain what he was going to do at the start line, but got himself all confused and aborted the attempt.

Okay, enough AVD bashing from me. I'm still glad he gets permits for spring racing (although I secretly hope that he would hand over the series to Charlie) and says, "go" and rings the bell for last lap.

I will be in Prospect as Mike has me in it already. Time to make him a team manager on Bike Reg and just let him register me...

Looking through some pictures online, it was easy to spot Mike. Come to think of it, easy to spot myself as well - Damn, I look big on a bike.
It was also made easier by us being at the head of affairs. Along with Keith and WDC. Plus Rene has these great looks on his face...

Marc, some people might find this a bit offensive but there is a very traditional victory salute for any race involving the word turkey. While these victory salutes are usually employed while dominating your local thanksgiving 5k turkey trot, I believe it will be equally well received at the Turkey Hill Road Race.

It may take some skill. As you approach the finish line, you'll need to lower your bib shorts to expose a part of your anatomy that looks like a turkey's gobbler. Then, take your hands off your bar and use your arms to make a wing-like flapping motion. Scream at the top of your lungs "gobble gobble muther fuckaz!" while flapping your turkey arms wildly and shaking your head about. A picture of this victory salute will certainly get more traction on nyvelocity than Vidal's silly 2 for 2 salute.

Good luck! I must note, you might need to use discretion in avoid arrest after the race if any parents with you children see you and don't appreciate the beauty of this salute.

Who's racing this one?

It's a short race for us -- only 8 laps. No points, no prems, no nothin' but a race to the line.

My straw-man strategy for the race:
1. Get into good-looking early moves
2. Initiate late breaks in the last 3 laps
3. Line up leadout by the bandshell for 100 percent inevitable sprint
4. Take entire podium for ourselves

The plan looks good Jeff. I'm out this weekend but will be out later Saturday for some longer miles.
