Gravel Grinders

btw rode the Fleche Buffon yesterday.

Simple, grassroots, well organized, gorgs route, 14 climbs, about 6 of them with over 20% pitches. Modded the giant with a 34 in front and a 30 in the back.

@David Gardiner was there, altho he rode away on the first couple of climbs.

Signed up for Fools Classic, which has more gravel but can done on a road bike, will probably do the same gearing, but 28 tires. This year's offers two routes 100 miles and 75 miles -- so far I'm in for the 75, but could maybe (big maybe) be convinced to do the 100.

If you signup with this link, I get a discount.

I was so counting on you!!  :'(

Just checking in who is coming to Farmer's Daughter.

Have a zip car in reserve, and can fit at least one more bicycle. Would love to drive out and back with someone. If someone can offer a ride, even better.

So far this Kissena crew is signed up:
  • Mark Taylor (tentative)
  • Eloy Anzola (definitely going)
  • Patrick Grehan (tentative)
  • Thierry Bonnaire
  • Phillip Maronilla
Should be a good fun day out. Please let me know!
I'm going for sure
and I have a car. If we can share the driving Eloy especially when coming back, I would be eternally grateful.

Ok, awesome! Thierry!

Would be happy to drive the whole way back. Should be a lot of fun. Will cancel my zip car.
I'll be there too. Driving with my buddy tho.
Message me on Slack if someone wants my Farmers Daughter spot. My back isn't quite ready for this

HOTNESS.
I am really bummed that I can’t join you guys for Farmers Daughter. Have an awesome time. It would have been great to ride with you guys. Next time!
a bit too close and late for Farmer's Daughter but plenty of future gravely rides. Altho, generally, I just ride 33 whatever is on my cross bike.

I have 37's on , thats what im bringing , i'm expecting to be walking through that forest section early on ,after all this rainfall
Same. I'm running 35 Ritchey Alpines which has a recessed tread pattern. Not exactly ideal for what we're going to be dealing with on Sunday.
Riding 33s, don't remember that walking section, other than some stream/river we had to cross. Might swap the 40 chainring for a 38 w/ 12-30 cassette. I do remember this ride is when I learned that Ride with GPS is awesome, but the grades will be about two times steeper than it says!
If its the same section I'm thinking about - its near the beginning shortly after we first get into the tighter wooded area. A few short but steep  hills with slick rocks and mud underfoot for a lot of it.
yah, that's what I remember too, but I only remember dismounting for a moment to cross a couple of deep streams... you guys are trying to scare me!
@eloy, @Thierry Bonnaire
What's the driving plan ?
