i'm off and should be free for a ride, but i don't think i have time for 90+ miles. maybe Orchards or something for me.

Guys, this coming Tuesday I am off from work, means big ride. Who is with me? I was thinking going west exploring Wanaque

Leaving early, 7:30-8 am GWB. Weather should be fairly decent.
Giacomo,
For what it's worth, my recommendation is to climb Skyline Drive both ways.

when you climb from the Oakland side, on the way out, you make a left onto Conklintown road about halfway down the descent.  Take to end.  Then right on Ringwood, the first left onto Westbrook, and take that around so you climb all the way to Macopin road.  Then rejoin your route.
Thanks JP, sounds cool. Still not sure if it is happening though, need to find volunteers. Maybe Thursday instead of tomorrow is better...?
Who likes fall colors, long climbs and beer??  I certainly do.

Mark your calendars for Saturday October 15 : thousands of feet of climbing, to the top of Bear Mountain, and into Peekskill to hit up the Peekskill Brewery before taking the train back to Central Station.

For planning, probably getting back to Manhattan at 4 or 5pm.
Awwwwwwww yeah
Scott, does this mean you don't want the car spot for Cooper River Cross?

@jim_nelson,  Ack!! yes good point. This is what I get when I don't write things down.

Yes, I relinquish my spot  . Work travel has picked up again and I won't have any time to get ready for the race as I get back Oct 14. Thanks again for the offer!
9am's tomorrow?
sunday for me
I had planned to ride long this morning on the Waterford but woke up feeling like I was coming down with something so I decided to stick to the park.

Shared with a half marathon

and it turns out there are pipers at the gates of dawn

No worries. 3 spots on offer for Copper River. I plan on doing the 45+ race at 11:00 but could maybe be bribed into going early for the 9:00 4/5 race.
By that I mean I would still race the 45+ but get you there in time to race the 9:00. You'd have to hang out and watch me race.
Jim
im going to decide by Monday but I've been contemplating the 4/5 race
I'll be there Sunday (tomorrow).
Rain or shine.
Hit Cunningham this morning fun in the rain
anybody riding Monday
Out by my lonesome today.  On the down side, there was a headwind all the way north. On the plus, tailwind all the way home.
Planning in advance, anyone doing a Sunday ride?
I am skipping Gloucester, will race cooper river Saturday, and planning on riding the Cunningham trails on Sunday. Come join me.
Was looking for tempo/threshold pace on the road, but close to home sounds tempting.  I may try a lap or two with you and then head off to the CX practice area to work on my fundamentals.

Calling all (non-going-to-a-CX-race-this-weekend) riders!  Looking forward to getting back to NYC tomorrow and having a fun ride this coming Saturday. 8am BB / 9am GWB
In for Bear Mountain!
i'll join and see how far i get.

FWIW, if we aim for just Bear and maybe one other good climb (River Road or Bradley/Twead), I'm sure we could aim for a 3 - 4pm arrival to Central Station
Up for that, but a windier climbier gravelier route & 4-5pm arrival also sounds pretty great.
Classification: Public

You guys are scaring me...!

I'll be there for RR/Piermont but will leave the big hills to you :-)
Made a little route for tomorrow, if we decide to go the windy way. It goes through Bradley / Tweed and High Tor with a little bit of gravel along the way. Totals from GWB to Peekskill Brewing are right around 64 miles with 5600' of climbing.

I like the route with High Tor
Planning on riding Cunningham trails on the CX bike this Sunday (Oct 16)

Start around 9:30am at Cunningham, for about 2+ hours.

Text/Call if you wanna join: 347.225.1058

Riding single track w/ friends and teammates is about the most fun you can have on a bicycle.

cheers.
