Prospect Park Weekday Morning Training

I've been equivocating about post this, but what the heck:

Ride Brooklyn, why did you fuck me so hard?

I took my bike in for a FULL checkup after the roof-rack-drive-through disaster. Left it with them for a day and a half, walked it home with my daughter.

Took the bike out for a ride yesterday and promptly realized I could barely pedal - the cranks wouldn't turn. Nice FULL CHECKUP guys, I guess spinning the crank isn't included. I wonder what other things weren't included. Sure hope I don't DIE from any of it.

Took my bike back in a (polite, Canadian) huff and Pete found one of the screws on the der-hanger was way loose, and rubbing. He fixed that, and declared my campy chain too long.

Murray took some links out, and they sent me on my way. I rode 30k easy.

This morning, my chain exploded. Would love to claim Cancellara like power did it, but I suspect they fucked up the chain breaking-relinking.

I really like Pete and their shop, but I have to say this aggression cannot stand. WTF?

I seriously don't have the time to be my own mechanic, but it doesn't seem like I have an alternative.
I wrench for private clients. There is also Mike haddad and his bike repair. He's like me. Doesn't trust others to work on bikes. He does great work.

Tell him I sent you.
Sweet, tks
Mike does a really great job. I've used him on a few bikes. Word of warning, he is very particular about equipment condition. This is probably a good thing, but parts to me that can get 5,000 more miles for him are already worn out and needing of replacement. It seems to me his goal is to get the bike running at 100% (again, a good thing), but to save money I sometimes and willing to take 95%.

He will make it very convenient to get parts (chains, cassettes, etc.) , but expect to pay a pretty standard price for parts through him. So if you're a cheap ass like me, give him your new parts with you bike if you anticipate needing to change stuff.

He does pick up and drop off. Really convenient. And turnaround time is fast.
FYI - called Mike this morning about getting a nice tuneup/figuring out why my BB is creaking/putting on some new tires. But, he's in Florida until April 15.
See you all tomorrow morning 6AM at GAP for good old sprint workouts week 2.
I'll be there.
I'm in. See you guys in the morning.
I am going to try and be there as well.
Rinse lather repeat. Faster than last week. Or the same time.
What time do you guys finish your workouts in the mornings assuming 6am start?
Im going to try and get in the park tomorrow morning too.

Last week we were done around 7 and 7:15ish, depending on the workout. If I remember correctly I was home by 7:30 everyday.
Would love to join you guys, but I've been sick, and this flu apparently is getting worse :(

yo! morning ppk riders/training...thanks for instruction and painfilled sprints!

...clear that if i can keep it up, Team 6AM training is the key to improvement.
apart from my arrival, grumblings, enjoyed time plenty - &taste of humble pie.
-h;>
wats on the menu tomorrow? 2x20mins? i'm prob gonna show.
Battenkillaz; this is NOT the week to be hammering 2x20 anything IMHO

I did 3x20 second sprints and a 5 minute tempo

Nothing tomorrow, some openers thursday/friday

Racing well requires the discipline to train hard and rest hard when it matters... or so I've been told.
Nobody is getting any fitter between now and saturday, unless you know Boonen's doctor...
I happen to know Boonen's doctor...on saturday I shall go on a solo breakaway about halfway into the race and smile at the camera before coming back into Cambridge.

in all seriousness, I need some intensity, i've been taking it easy since friday...maybe a 2 lap TT would do my legs justice.
I'm doing 2x20 at threshold tomorrow, but I'm not peaking for Battenkill. Will be in PP at 6.
The morning's workouts are generic, not race specific.
Jules has a point. Jeff isn't peaking, just racing through.

Are we on for tomorrow?
Ummm, I don't know what's going on for Saturday.

I meant this morning. Wasn't sure if anyone was riding or not.
We will be out again this week. 6AM at GAP on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Repeat (for the 3rd time)
Tuesday - Sprints
Wed - 2 lap TT
Thur - Group Ride
Damn!! I am so bummed that I can't join you guys...:(
I will be leading the ride at 530 am.
Come and beat me in a sprint.
Te hee
See you all at 6AM tomorrow for more Kissena morning training fun!

It not only makes you a better bike racer it makes you a better person.
I'll be there for therapy
New week. Week 4 of morning riding -right? . Tomorrow is actually an endurance day. Ride a nice double paceline. Work on smoothness and closeness. Pull off at the top and bottom of rises. Don't surge.

Wed. Two lap time trials times two.

Thursday group ride again

Friday is openers.

Next week will be a build week again.
