@davidyang Just so you know the group rides are generally Tues-Thurs.  Usually on Friday's people do their own thing.
Openers!  How are you supposed to race without openers?  Won't your guadz essplode?
guys stop training so hard...not cool, im getting jaleous.

I second this.  Geez I'm lazy.

David - I was out at 6am, but yeah since I was doing 10x1 intervals and you said TT laps I knew we wouldn't be riding together anyway so I didn't wait @ GAP.

Man, those intervals were hard - I felt like a glob of soggy cereal doing the circuit around the bowl.  Next week will, I hope, be better.

I saw the Lululemon squad roll up Union towards the park as I was drinking my coffee, after my failed attempt to rejoin the PS Food Co-op.
@tito - yeah man, figured you were off in your own corner of the park suffering with those intervals.  See you next week for whatever other scary stuff ragot has planned.

Any plan for tomorrow?  I'll be out @ 6am regardless - I'll do more intervals if there is no training plan.
been out of town so haven't touched the bike since Thurs-- will be at GAP at 6 to ride w/ whoever's down.
Week 10

Ugh...

Tuesday - anaerobic efforts. warm up for 20 minutes. Then go to the inner loop (center drive - right past the S/F line). Starting at the bottom, go as hard as you can up to the main road. Turn around and go back to where you started, repeat immediately. Complete 6-8 of these if you can.

Wednesday - NOT TT DAY - Just ride to get 1.5 hours of group riding in. Nothing too hard so you can manage tomorrow.

Thursday -  anaerobic efforts (AGAIN). warm up for 20 minutes. Then go to the inner loop (center drive - right past the S/F line). Starting at the bottom, go as hard as you can up to the main road. Turn around and go back to where you started, repeat immediately. Complete 6-8 of these if you can. .

Friday openers - just do 2 1min efforts and 2 30s efforts. Otherwise, just don't do them and just ride up the hill hard a couple of times during your ride (about 1 min anyway!)

Saturday and Sunday - ride/race
Better eat a light breakfast....
The Worst: A New Hope

Jim, Harry, Thierry, Jay, Dave S., myself, and a fashionably late Craig.

Warmed up for 1.5 laps and hit Center Dr. for The Worst drills.  Same as last week, they hurt like a mofo.  My left thigh felt like it was about to seize up after the 3rd, but magically after the 4th it decided to fall in line.  I may have to stretch/massage/warm up longer before doing these again on Thursday.

Dave S. wanted to go for a longer ride so bounced after 1 or 2.  Jim, Thierry, and Jay bounced after 6.  Craig came in during our 3rd or 4th and Harry and I stuck around with him for a total of 8.
Greetings from piermont- yeah I could tell by the end of the warmups that sprints weren't gonna be in the cards for me today. Holy crap it's windy on the Hudson. Saw some other kissenas on the gwb around 730am.

See y'all tmrw-

Do intervals count as anaerobic?

And is tomorrow's workout aerobic?

(trying to start learning this science stuff)
Intervals can be either, it depends on the length - over 3 minutes is aerobic, under is anaerobic
tomorrow is endurance (think 4 hour pace) which qualifies as aerobic

Tito, I know the search function isn't working, but JP and myself have really explicated the different jargon and theory of training. I'll see if I can find stuff.
1.5 hours of endurance group riding on Wednesday morning?   i'm in.....and hopefully this will kick start me doing more more mornings and fewer late evenings....miss the routine.

I'm in for tomorrow.
(Search should be fixed - holler if it ain't)
Legs are fried, might join for the initial laps but if you guys start going hard I'm going to just spin easy and wave as you lap me a few times.
Hope you all made it out.  I woke up with the 530a alarm and just couldn't do it.  See you tomorrow for The Worst II: The Worsening..."This time it's personal"
this morning was fun.
nice to see everyone - felt good to be back in PP in the morning. i stuck around for 3 laps of paceline with the group before dialing it back to protect ye olde goat heart....20+ miles in all.  i'll be back!

Yah, 'twas good.  The rotating paceline needs work, but it got better throughout the workout.  Nice to have Ragot there to keep everything orderly.
That was indeed fun, learned alot and nice to put names to faces & vice versa.

started cramping where the hamstrings meet the glutes (yech) during one of the hill climbs around 6:45; had hoped it'd go away but only got worse.

It was a good team ride, nice to see everyone, particularly Eloy !
Eloy? Riiiiight. And Sasquatch was there with Hoffa riding an invisible Citroen as directer sportif...

there were some strange sightings yesterday morning for sure...

best though:

after the group breaks up slightly going up the hill, Eddy Burlem who was sitting on with some others says to me "nice job keeping things together."

My reaction "I'm not sure how to react to that Eddy." Never saw him again.

I didn't know whether to tell him to F#$% off or explain its not my ride.

@dStearns(5jne) v. good2 see U out &about...best2 coddle the ticker &enJoY the KCC draft/slipstream, thnx Ragot&Nelson as ever.
note: rotating behind Ragot = cone of blissful silence~Tito&Condon not so much!
-h;-)
I was out this morning - got there a little late but ran into J Podwell from Major Taylor who stuck around for some wheel sucking and chitchat.  Good to open up the legs after FBF

This morning's roll call - Tito, Thierry, Bruce, Jim, Jay, myself, and the ever so fashionably late Craig.

Third time doing The Worst.  No muscles seized and everyone was going super hard.  By the 4th or 5th one I kept looking down at my sprockets and marveling at how pathetically hard it was trying to spin a 21t.

Not getting easier but I'm more mentally prepared.  I'm afraid of what comes after The Worst.

Yah, the Worst is really good training for local races - invaluable for Floyd.  I actually *enjoyed* today.
