cool. thanks. btw I'm on the trainer wed but planning to be out in the rain wed/thursday - let me know if anyone is planning on showing up in the rain. thanks
I'll try to be out tomorrow, rain or rain...
feels like a trainer day...
trainer day. oy those descending (if you want to call them that) intervals hurt... but the legs feel much much better than on saturday. perhaps the harder efforts on saturday helped prime things for today's workout. could just be mental too. i've heard arguments on both sides of the fence for hard efforts priming the body to take on more lactic acid vs. coming into a hard workout "cold" or fully rested. anyone care to weigh in?
All I can say is I am getting tired of waking up at 5:30 to pouring rain, and getting on the trainer. It is May we should have good weather by now. Lets hope tomorrow for TT efforts is ok. I don't think I want to do 8:30 TTs on the trainer. Long efforts just suck on that thing.
nog, certainly hoping tomorrow is better. this morning turned into hill work with the angels. woops, probably shouldn't have gone that hard.

Wow, thanks Jeff! That was deeply inspirational.
Dan, promise to ride outdoors regardless. You've been indoors too long and as you pointed out, doing these indoors no fun.
I'm out in the am whatever the weather - anyone else?
I said the same for Tuesday and totally whimped out after waking at 5:30 and looking out the window... Back to bed...
I'll try to give it a chance tomorrow again...
Good man....remember that's what bike #2 is for never mind rule #5.......just sayin! See you out there.
I will never ride the rain in the a.m. because there's always hope for the evening. I'm lucky enough to have both options with my work schedule. That said, when the weather stops sucking balls I'll be out there Tue and Thu consistently. And Wed evenings.

Trainer is last resort for me this time of year. I'll sooner take an unplanned rest day.
I rediscovered how pleasantly consistent the trainer is
A small group of hearty souls were out today for TT efforts. Jorge, Jeff, Murray, John M & myself.

It was about 99.9% humidity, the water was saturated, but it wasn't falling out of the sky. It just hung there so it was like riding through a cloud.

The Park has quite a few lakes. Including at the bottom of the hill, and in the giant potholes on south lake drive. We did our best to avoid these.

As for the workout. OUCH. The first two were not bad. the 3rd one really hurt as I was trying not to let Malcomson get away from me, and I ended up cramping before the Start/Finish line and had to softpedal a little to recover, before taking on the "hill".

Hopefully next week we can have a few better days than we've had this week.
Good ride, this morning. Definitely felt it (and I didn't get to the third one). Wondering what's on the agenda for next week as I'd like to plan out my training schedule. Let us know if you can. Thx.

More of the same.
Tuesday short intense intervals
Wednesday group ride
Thursday long TT efforts
probably taking the cross bike out tomorrow morning. 6am, rain or shine @ prospect. social/recovery pace.
Today's am work out was:
6 x 2 minutes on, 1 minute rest
5 minutes rest

6 x 1 minute on 1 minute rest
5 minutes rest

6 x 30 seconds on 1 minute rest

Had 5 do the ride and some other K's out in the park.
hey joe, jim, rich, jorge -- sorry I lost contact! My interval training apparently needs more interval training.
no worries jef. were you able to keep the intensity consistent?
Sounds good guys.
Tomorrow try the 1 lap TT's
Thursday - Easy group ride
Friday - Ride with some openers - 3x1min efforts with 5 min in between each, 3x30sec with 5 min between each.

Saturday - race...
thanks, joe! i kept the intensity consistent. but had to leave the park a little earlier than usual this morning - so unfortunately, didn't get all the way thru the whole workout.
Looking forward to tomorrow's TT workouts. Missed this morning for an early meeting in NJ, but will be back later.
Not going to be out tomorrow am. I took my bike by the shop tonight and something is very, very wrong with it. Bummer.
Not sure I'll be out, got sick after drinking Floyd juice on Saturday. Breakaway Courier guy got sick too.
Takeaway: beware the puddles!
I plan on being out there, though I might be getting sick, too. Even without ingesting Floyd juice.

Joe, what happened to your bike?
Jeff: I thought something was up with my bearings in my back wheel because it was making a grinding/squeaking noise. But when they started looking at the wheel they said that the problem wasn't with the wheel but with the bike. I will have the full answer for you tomorrow.
Yeesh. Well, I have a spare race bike if you need a loaner.
joe: oh that is lame lame lame!

on the way out the door this morning, realized i had a flat upon moving bike from rack to floor. replaced tube and got out about 15-20 minutes late. thought i'd run into you guys, but no luck. rode mostly recovery pace instead of a half-assed TT workout w/ car avoidance. hope to vacate work early enough to hit floyd tomorrow night instead.
