In for 4/5
I'm reg'd for the 3 race. Anyone going down this weekend?
Just registered for the Cat4 "Cup" at 11 am, but happy to get there well in advance with anyone who might have an extra seat/spot for a small bike.

I heard something about there actually being watermelon prizes and otherwise at this race--I hope this information is correct.
^Jeff won a pie there for a preme.  True story, he has a picture.

@ Kayt - pies and all sorts of fruit! Keep your eyes and ears aware, they're given out as premes!! Scroll up for some pictures.
in for the 4/5! looking forward to 10am pie.

Damn, I really love this race.

Royally effed up my back last weekend so I won't be joining you guys. Very sad.

Have fun.

Oh, dear lord. Mike Novemsky is signed up for the race. I'm bored already. Who's going to sit on his wheel while he TTs off the front?

Seriously, one/all of us just need to mark that guy and be there when he goes.

I fully plan to win this sucker and Novimsky isn't getting away. He can do so because people are unwilling to chase. But if he goes, I can bridge.

You won't even have to bridge. Seriously. That guy is marked. He is not to get away without one of us on his wheel. If it's me, he's not getting a single pull. If it's Ragot, I expect you can better match his 340-watt threshold power and you can take pulls if you so desire. The best he gets is 2nd.

FWIW, if it's me hitching a ride on the Novemsky train, I'll communicate to any Kissena's on the side line if I need Ragot and Co to chase me/us because I'm dying and about to be dropped.

He should have been marked at Somervill on Monday.  But the several masters "teams" let him go.  And then decided not to chase.
I'm out.

I retweaked my left knee early last week doing 15sec on 15off and I can't go too hard without it protesting loudly……which is why I didn't race last weekend

I've got to stop pre-registering for races weeks in advance
If anyone needs a ride to the 4/5 I have room. Will be leaving east village at 7am but have to work later in the day so can't hang around too long after the race
Incredible.  Just incredible.

Take a goat to your race.

Yikes...please be kind to your parts everyone. Not saying that this was the case here but...

No insanely torquey-brutal workouts without a solid base, okay?

have we taken home any pies or melons yet?????
Yang 3rd according the the book of faces
Got me a sweet melon.
Ragot took 1st in the 35+ and Kayt placed 4th in the W4
I lapped the field solo. That's what I have to say. Good work from dan Marc and vlad.
Got 7th after the break I was in fell apart and got caught on the last turn of the bell lap.
Textbook Ragot season = steady, steady, steady, and then...BAM - do something awesome.
Picture of Ragot and his winning bike?
Chapeau's and high fives! Looking forward to some race reports and tales if sweet, juicy victory fruit...

We won primes in the 3, leadout and sprint didn't pan out but a fun race nevertheless.

Small field of 16 including last weekends double winner mike n. Vlad goes at the gun, stays away for 4 laps. Eventually a yellow fluo guy goes, another goes, Alessandro matteuci goes, I go and we've got 6. Mike N. Is marked and we start to get a gap. I put in some monster turns into the headwind, our gap started to grow. Eventually we see mike n coning across. He made it. Nothing happened.

We had two out of 7 hanging on and not contributing. I accelerated out of the crappy corner into the vicious side headwind once to try to dislodge the leeches. No dice. I go again the next lap. I get a gap of 15 seconds or so and I decide that I have to keep rolling. I get 5 to go and just try to hammer the windy sections and recover downwind.

After a lap or so, I see the field! I am out of sight of the break and quickly closing on the field. With 3 to go, I head to the front with Vlad and Marc. We don't get caught. I finish by hitting the lap button on my garmin.

The other strong guys from the break complimented me on just being the strongest and able to hold them off. I guess not feeling well doesn't mean not racing well.

Next up. State crit championships.
