Ok. I'm in for this. Ryan I can give you a ride if you still need one and Aly I got your text and can give you the other spot. I'm planning to go up the night before and stay at the Super 8. Can someone confirm the address? I booked one in Albany but want to make sure that's the right one. The question is now do I race in the 4s with Jules and Patrick or the 3/4s with Tito, Aly and Konrad? Due to punctures or personal ability I've yet to finish in the peloton in a real hilly race in the Cat 4s. This is a goal of mine for this year. I figure I'll have plenty of time to get killed in the 3s next year. Do we all consolidate into the 4s to have a strong presence?

I will be racing catskills so I need the race miles, that said I don't think presence is an issue. It will be a race of attrition as per usual, stay with the leaders and keep the juice for the final sprint.

I am driving up to the race Saturday morning and can offer a ride for anyone needing one. I too am "hunting" for points and will be in the 4s.

stokes would strongly recommend a 28.

I did this race last year on a 26, there are some short steep sections which required some stomping so a 28 certainly could be better.

Jesus, I must admit I'm slightly terrified of the Pro123 field...Margarite, Boardman, Breech, Chabanov...and those are just the guys I know!

a double? i was running a 53-39 x 13-26. found it a bit hard at times especially on 10%ish sections but then again fitness was lower.

Mark was seen to be very happy with his 28 last weekend.

Just don't be near Breech in the beginning of the race. That dude likes to hang out in the back and then use his massive motor to bridge all kinds of gaps that he shouldn't have to have bothered with in the first place.

@Jules. I'm feeling a little gassed this week so my plan is to see how the first lap hills go and a take it from there. Patrick is looking in good form from what I saw on Tuesday. This is clearly your kind of race so let me know what you envision. I'll give it my all.

FWIW, I don't think road-results' predictor is, or can be, anywhere near as accurate as the cross version. There's just too much inconsistency in road results reporting, plus too many different kinds of road races.

Either way, this looks like it's going to hurt a LOT.  Those better be some f-ing nice T-Shirts...
