A Couple of weeks ago a guy up to me in the city " Hey Kissena used to be a powerhouse team in the 90s"
and then rambled on about some race in NJ where he finished 3rd behind a Kissena 1-2 ,

I had flatted in LIC and went into Spokesman bike shop. Started talking with the owner, Carlos, and he said he was a former member. Knew Charlie super well

So, the International Cycle Show was a bike industry trade show. It was in NYC for many years, though not much longer past 1986. Bicycle Dealer Showcase was a trade magazine. I eventually wrote for it. I don't know how or why they stopped doing the trade show, but it could be because InterBike was doing a better job of running a trade show, as InterBike ran bike trade shows from 1982-2018. IB eventually was part of the same company as Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, a trade publication that has had many owners, including the National Bicycle Dealers Association, and now Outside, Velo's parent company, and unlike BDS, has survived.
I'm guessing the race was just part of the then-running Spring Series. It was probably the standard 6:30am Central Park start, and the second race of the series, which ran from the first Sunday in March to the last Sunday of April.
I might have done that race in the juniors. It would have been either my first USCF Central Park race or close to it. There are a few pictures of me at that race hanging around online.
