35+ 4/5, 2 laps in, Joaquin in 2nd, Jules right behind in 3rd. Jeff looking strong. All 3 called out by the announcer. Hup hup hup.
AWESOME. Where did you finish Josh?
1 to go ! Joaquin is holding it!
Joaquin in 3rd, Jules in 7th?' Gonna post pics to twitter @jlcaesar. Marc -lined up 97th or so of 121starters Lots of traffic ! And accidents Dropped my chain at one point on a remount, 4 guys passed . Caught them pretty quickly thankfully. Finished withering into a ball of nothing, preliminary results say 99 of 121.
Rear brake went one lap in; rode the final three laps with just front brake. JCDB dominant despite two pretty epic wipeouts.

Helmet mounted gopro caught both.

Phenomenal course; power, finesse... Just awesome

Where did you finish oh, one-brake'd man?
Jules ruled it for a solid 7th. Incredible considering he was fighting his brakes to fend off endo-ing.
WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME HOW AWESOME THIS RaCE is?!?!
The only thing better than the course is the view and the only thing better than that is the PLayground, which is surpassed barely by the tacos which in turn only yield to TEAM PARKING.

I feel robbed to have lived this long and only just discovered this race.

Hotlist you have been keeping this race secret! Poor form.

Oh no you didn't!!! Scroll up...Eloy said back in 2011, ""This race be dope. Highest level of awesomeness level possible." We can talk, but can't make people listen.

(related; I'll say now, again, Providence is very much more awesome than Independence.)

Super jealous yo...you guys rocked it. How'd Jeff do?
4th in masters for me at town hall.
The weather is anti-epic.
Tall ships in the harbour; Myerson, JPow et al warming up. Elite women just starting...

Hot tip: did you have trouble on a particular spot of the course? Park yourself there for a few minutes and watch how the pros handle their business. Last year, was where I first realized the Powers' lesser known teammate Zach McDonald was superior to all the "big" names on one particularly muddy, off camber, descending dodgy as hell corner. He zipped through it like it was nothing. Everyone else looked like Cat 5s.
Wow that was fast, hot and dusty. Like watching Hidalgo with spandex. Think I got some good shots. Excited to see.
Well BALLS.  The GoPro shut itself off after 2 minutes.  When I reached to turn it OFF after the race it turned ON and recorded my drunken ride to a shady place where I could lay down and the next 16 minutes of my life.

#crap

How about a little bedtime story from Adam Myerson who raced today. I find watching these interviews especially enjoyable after having watched them in the race. What they say, directly as it relates to what I saw...or in this case, this year, what I wish I saw:

Keep a browser window open to dirtwire.tv, Parson's will continually upload more and more interviews as the hours roll by.

Oh yeah, and crush it tomorrow.
- Unusually long rest
- Unusually short preparation for season leads to

Great form, good results.

If only there were some kind of... oh I don't know, conclusion we could draw from this...
Day 2: Josh solid in the mix with a couple of crashes.
Jules & JCDB go 6/7 with good teamwork
Whitey visiting local ER for knee stitches.
Someone called out "20th place" to the guy in front of me right before my front wheel shot out from under me and I smashed my knee into a baseball sized piece of igneous rock.
No broken bones! BAM!
Jeffrey's OK!
Igneous bastards. Say the word and into the Gowanus he goes.

Final resting place of a chunk of my knee flesh. Many of those rocks were still embedded in the dirt when we went through.
#sceneofsceneofthecrime

That looks treacherous.
Oh jeez, that's where I went down as well. Bad spot.
Hotlist is mine guide. I shal listen to the Hotlistiness. So I went that spot and took about 100 photos of the pros (men and women) takin the corner for later study. Very illuminating.

Took about 1k photos so it will take some time to cull and crop the good one are but there are lots.

i imagine that in his mind, he's forever chasing the guy who hooked him into the barriers.
Man, if I ever discover the identity of the hooker . . .

Angry-face is usually my version of 'shut up legs,' except that it applies to my whole body.
