Hey, guess what works at keeping people off your wheel when you're doing intervals in the park?  I mean, *after* telling them they should have asked and that you're doing intervals and don't wanna have to point stuff out for them and it's kinda crowded so it's not a good time.  Oh, and seeing them blow through red lights where pedestrians are trying to cross...

Spray your bottle all over your face and around so that the water flies back into their faces!  Totes wurkt.

I like making friends.

I rely on prodigious "wind" #flatulence
Jeff Owens - Keeping folks off your wheel takes new meaning now. Apparently you forgot to fart on or bottle spray that driver this morning.
Ok, so tomorrow I have a minor barn-burner of a ride to do.

Anyone who is interested in joining (or heckling) me for 90 minutes of self imposed flagellation holler.  My plan right now is like 7-10am

I'm heading to the mountains for a couple of a days of not seeing another person; I am planning on being considerably more involved when I return. Enjoy.
I'll just pretend it's a weekday.

Did 8x "the worst" today @ 1:27-1:37.  My timed laps were longer than the strava segment (1:41 minimum) so I guess I did slightly longer intervals.  Surprisingly, this did not make me vomit, although the lady selling bottled water muttered "why he always sticking his tongue out?".  Because it's goddamn hot, that's why.

Also weirdly, my HR struggled to hit 175, except during a final hill sprint when I finally hit and held 178.  My max when running is 188, though I've never seen above 182 on the bike. Weird.
Will be doing the maiden adjustment voyage on the new cannondale 6pm tonight. if you have a bit of paitence, then happy to ride at a moderate pace for 2 hrs.

Social ride, tonight 6:15PM (ish) Grand Army Plaza. Let me know if I should expect company. I'll ride until 7:30 or 8.

If I'm not there by 6:20, start without me and I'll find you.
@Mike - Prob catch up to kissenas at the SW entrance around 7ish if I'm lucky.
@mperlberg You read my mind with this. I should be at GAP around the same time.

I'll probably be swinging through around 6:45 or so on my commuter with half a kit and a load of crap on my back. I'll either go really really fast or really really slow so as to intersect you guys.
I am sadly still in office. Hope to get a ride in tomorrow...
Wait, david. You work at an office? I had you pegged as a guy who somehow made a living from watching simpsons episodes.

Wow, how wrong I was!
If there was a job to watch The Simpsons I would take it in a heartbeat.  Alas it's a competitive field and there are plenty of pros willing to do it for free - as evidenced by the massive amounts of gifs, screen caps, and episode synopses that litter the World Wide Web.  I am but a minnow in an ocean full of narwhals.

@jules holy carp that might be the best thing I've seen all morning.
@Yang I have a special bond with the Narwhal...
i'll be out there tonight at around 6:30 or so.  quick lap or two.
Just got back.  Sweet fancy Moses it's hot out.

Another afternoon special.  Sighted:

1) a man on rollerblades going down the hill wait for it... with a dog under EACH ARM
2) an 8 year old on a gas powered scooter zig zagging around like a balloon in a Tom & Jerry cartoon
3) a teammate who jumped on my wheel unannounced, drafted until the uphill, attacked me an then exploded at the top never to be seen again.  Folks, say "hello" you hop on someone's wheel - it is the polite thing to do :)

It is getting cooler out too - THANK FSM!
Ran into Rigby randomly who promptly beat the hell out of my legs for two laps. Then after he left the park some dude with a fanny pack cat 6ed me. Awesome.

Tested out the new Rudy sterling helmet. Fits great, nice ventilation.
some dude with a fanny pack cat 6ed me.
clifford only thumbs-upped this because the british giggle every time an american says "fanny"

he's probably still chortling
6:30 today GAP. social ride.
Did anyone that was out last night have a little argument with a "fixed gear kid?" I have a funny story.

I'm super curious about this story now...
Yes David! Now!!

shooting for 6:30 PM today for some riding, mostly endurance with a little tempo mixed in. come join.
Late. More like 6:45 or 7
for no other reason than it's really quite wonderful out, i am going to do 90 or so mins of endurance/low tempo riding in the park later.  easy on times so if anyone's going out and fancies company, lemme know.
@Clifford if I get out of here at a reasonable hour I'll try to join around 730p
