He better. I'm doing them, besides the 2 that conflict with Grant's Tomb and the one the same day as Red Hook.
Eh, sorry mattie. probably not due commitments to my collegiate team those weekends... I want to try and do the cherry blossom challenge. Its in branch brook...I think the first week of april.
Hey all,
Branch Brook starts up on Saturday:
https://www.bikereg.com/Net/15169

I am driving and doing Masters and 1/2/3 races.
I believe Perlberg and Mueller are in.
Others?

Cat 4/5 Races - there are two! - Ryan, Whitey, Jules, others?
I am 75/25 on doing the first 4/5 race (and skipping the second one), then scooting over to Queens for JP's velodrome session.

I'll make a decision and register shortly.
I'd like to go if I can score a ride out there.

Timing isn't great for ride sharing between 4-5 and 1-2-3 racers with the 4/5 races at just after 7 and the 1/2/3 not starting til 9.
I think I've mentioned this before, but I cannot recommend these races enough. As a beginner (which I still consider myself) you can do 2 races, back to back, and if you're like me, the first race you spend too much energy being dumb during the first race, and in the second race you *have* to race smart.

I'm planning to be there.
I'm in for race #1 for the 4/5. Then scoot to work.

@josh, if you go, bring my skinsuit and socks?
You left your skinsuit and socks at his place??
it's a long sordid story
@Mattie - I sent you an email - your stuff is at my aunt's place in West Nyack - I gave it to her to get it into your neck of the woods since I wasn't going to be in town while the shop was open (as originally planned).

I'll forward it back over.

@Adam - new stuff - clothing delivery !

I'm in for Saturday morning
While I totally planned to kick my racing season off here, a family thing has come up so it looks like Grant's will again be my first race. I'm sure you'll find a way without me!
I will be there, will drive with eric unless others want to come, then I can try to get bos car and give another a ride.

These races only go until cherry blos. , 1st week in april, then no more BB until next year,so worth checking out.
I can take two, but will be there early enough for masters race.
i'll take the train, but i'll probably want to sit on michael's lap for the ride home
i call shotgun in eric's car!
bummer, this Saturday is canceled.

was looking forward to slugging out with some jersey heavyweights.

Will probably do some sort of workout Saturday morning and still stick with a Sunday long ride, unless someone can convince me to race CP and then do some miles afterwards.

Well, JP's registered for the whole series and going for an overall placing. I'm going to race, then at least Malcolmson and I are going to do some laps of the Grant's Tomb course after the race.

That said, I like the idea of there always being someone leading the traditional Kissena Sunday group ride even when racing season begins.

Hi everybody.

We're going to cancel Saturday's Branchbrook Park Spring Training Series.

Despite the mild winter, the roads through Branchbrook park are worse than ever and we don't feel that it's safe to race on them. We've agonized over this decision, but the bottom line is that it's simply not worth risking anyone's health or life to race a bicycle.

We've been working with the Essex County Parks Department for a while about the road conditions. The good news is that they will be grinding down the road surface and repaving the problem areas. The bad news is that we don't know when they will be able to do it. They've told us that they think they will be able to get it done in time to hold at least
a few of the races in March.

So this Saturday is definitely cancelled, and we're going to take it week by week until the roads are fixed.

As you've already registered, we want to offer you 3 choices:

1) We can refund your registration fees. Unfortunatley we're not able to refund the fees paid to bikereg.

2) We can transfer your registration to any other week. If we can't race on that new week, we can either transfer it again, or issue you a refund.

3) You can wait and see when we're able to get back in to the park and we can transfer your registration to dates when we know with certainty that we'll be able to hold races.

Jim and Tom
Oh wow. Major bummer.
How about an impromptu Kissena club slugfest at Floyd instead?
HELLO! What about the ROADBIKES AT THE KISSENA TRACK?
You can race in CP on Sunday. Come and ride around in circles and build the team.
Sat March 3. I forgot what time.
Let's hope it doesn't rain.

I just wish the hills were steeper and longer (and the sun a little brighter).
Jules,
There are more important things than smackdowns. Besides, you can do intervals on the track.

And without BB, CP will be much better attended.
I plead a combination of jetlag, heartache for LA riding and "oh shit I hope that cough the kids have isn't what I feel in my chest right now"
I'll be at the track; if only because I'm ferrying two budding superstars. John, get your tow-hook ready :)
+1 for bummed - was about to reg - thanks for the info Mattie.
hey guys,

I am in medium-good shape for me, which appears to be "pack-fill" shape for local racing (putting in 6-8 hours a week since Christmass, Zone 3-4 work this last month). I haven't raced "well" often enough to feel super awesome labeling myself a sprinter/break away/climber.

Question is: Branchbrook or Grant's Tomb next Saturday? show your work.
read up a bit - branchbrook is cancelled this Saturday, probably the next bunch of weekends too

do spring series this sunday (the 4th)

do grant's next saturday (10)
^ listen to the boss.
