i'm out. i've done floyd in a driving rainstorm before - no fun. now if you'll excuse me, i've gotta go find a belt for my little boy pants.
=)
Ahem.
Posted By: Jeffrey WhiteI'm in for this race (Saturday, FBF) by the way.

7:10 GAP meetup, anyone?
Can we push it to 7:30?
I'm in - 7:10 is latest I'd like to do given the Flatbush Challenge pre-ride can be a little dicey.
fyi anyone interested (jp, posssssibly):

if it's raining tomorrow AM i wont be making it down - a 20+ mile commute in the cold AND wet just to race 50 miles in it is not in my cards.

i guess i'm just not flahute material.

Does anyone know if this is on or off? Fuck sake, zero status anywhere online.
Just saw a tweet from ARC racing. Cancelled. Retweeted. Drat. Trainer it is...
Just called the number I posted - - CANCELLED
Ah! Sorry for you dudes, but glad that being a lame-sauce nerd doing homework is actually paying off right now...
I enjoyed a pleasant 2.5 hour ride in the drizzle yesterday. Was even a bit too warm for most of the ride (climbing)

For those who want to move on to adolescent pants, here's what I wore.

First: thermal base layer, standard bibs, wool socks.

Covered by: long sleeve jersey, wind-front bibs.

Added: Waterproof/breathable shell for torso, neoprene gloves for hands, and neoprene booties for feet.

I got my gloves on eBay for $14 or so. The name on them is Thunderwear, but they could be the same as countless others.

My booties are from Gator. I like them because they're thin, stretch well around my shoes and only have a cutout for the cleat. (not great for walking though). I also have neoprene booties from Endura. These are really thick and seem like overkill unless its pouring.

Not a fan of the trainer, so I prefer getting outside.

Came up with a nice route that's 25mi roundtrip from the bridge with 2500' of climbing. Lots of turns (save river road) so it's hard to do the whole thing fast.
FWIW my coach will sometimes give me a Plan-B for weather that is truly sh*tty. Saturday's was 20x1 minute maximums with 1 minute rest.

Horrible to be sure but I got most of it done on the trainer in under an hour.

Also a good thing for the family men when your scheduled ride-time gets kaboomed by unexpected family shenanigans.
