The 3/4 field should not have many 3's because any 3 younger than 49 must race in the Pro/1/2/3 field.

Remember, don't pre-reg for these races, since they normally don't sell out and we race for $10-15 at these. Save Charlie the effort of putting together the refund envelopes.

I plan to make my 2012 racing debut at FBF this weekend. So I am in.

Is there no CP or PP spring series race this weekend? Debating whether to do FBF....

ripped up pavement in PP, at least as safe as the wide parallel running cracks with calf high weeds growing through them at Floyd, no? Haha.

I am sure AVD will tweet sometime next Monday that the Sunday race is cancelled because of the pavement being torn up.

FWIW, the DOT paving scheudle has the work wrapping up tomorrow evening. They are supposed to be milling and repaving from the circle to Parkside and Ocean. I've been avoiding that part of the park but my guess is they will be able to finish by this weekend.

I'm currently thinking about doing this. Anyone else in for the 1/2/3's?

While its flat, I think the groveling that goes on is good training for any mass-start racing.

I think the decision between a Charlie race and an AVD race is a no brainer, regardless of the venue

I may race twice, but I'm eager to do Floyd. There is currently no chance of rain, 58-62 ˚F with a 5 mph wind.

There is NEVER 5 mph wind at Floyd. Don't let that fool you. The temp sounds great though. Thanks to all of us for global warming.

Prob in for this. If the pavement is new in PP, it might make for some good racing as its also 10laps.

"Just came back from Prospect Park. From the Temple to the skating ring parking lots, the road hasn't been paved yet. Not sure if more repaving is under way in the next couple of days. Don't know if the Sunday race is a go."

"The paved section is baby smooth. :) They haven't put markings on the road yet. From what I heard, the park department will expand the cycling lanes to 2 lane wide. Which means that effectively the joggering's lane takes up more of the racing road. Not sure when they will implement the new lane."

I hadn't thought about that. The joggeringsers are going to eat into our bicycle cycling race course.

Useful info for those who can only race on Sunday! The decreased space should alter strategy a bit too. Good for everyone to know.

Morning rain Saturday - 70% chance. This rarely affects PP or CP races, but I have seen Floyd races cancelled by weather. Any suggestions on where we go to check race status? NY Velocity?

Charlie I. usually notifies someone on the club of the status of the race, and that person in turn posts here. There is also usually an update on NY Velocity.
