I'll be giving the wallet and legs a break this weekend from racing. Good luck all!
I doing Purgatory on Sunday so sitting this one out. Good luck.
Started to go hypothermic just riding to the start finish...bathrooms locked made my decision to head home an easy one. If it were 10 degrees warmer I would have pinned up.  Potholes filled with water are even harder to spot at 27 mph...discretion being the better part of valor and all that.
Left early to help w reg. and started getting pelted with rain crossing the bridge. When I got to the bklyn side I took some cover to check the radar. No good. Not worth it. Went home. Group ride?
zero for three.

Riding to the race on 5th ave in Manhattan, I saw a bus run a red light going west on 97th right in front of me.  I slowed down for the rest of the ride.  Didn't have time to pin up.  Rode home.  Flatted.

that kind of day.  Looking to avenge on the roads tomorrow.
Ouch. "too col" in June.

Nothing to see here folks

Ha
The driving rain on eastern parkway convinced  me to head back home and crawl back into bed. Oh well
Quick report:
  • Was wet, but truly not that cold
  • Patrick and Mark were pre-reg, missed them a bunch. honest.
  • Training is coming along, totally on top of stuff, comfy riding the front
  • Attacked a bunch of times lateish in the race, mostly with cool rock star Luke Taylor
  • We agree to attack ala 'Vlad ride off the front' mellow style
  • didn't really work
  • 2 to go, my rear derailer cable snaps, oh well, 39 forevah!
  • Luke attacks one last time, inside one to go, I wanna join but small ring thinks otherwise, Luke later tells me I missed nothing
  • rolled in midish peloton 53x12 sprint what what
  • heading out for second breakfast right now, somewhere in the harlems

I think only Yack has broken wheels.

when are you spray painting penises over the potholes?

I'll be riding my Neugent aluminum
tubulars. They have a 2 year shit the bed warranty...wish I was on them this morning when I hit a Belgium block on the LIE service road...le sigh....rim le dent...no idea how I stayed upright

Yacks - you have the worst luck when it comes to wheels.
But great luck keeping shit upright....as long as I don't fall, I could care less about all the wheels I've knackered.

I don't understand, are you like cursed? man, best wishes.
it was in a shady a patch...I was riding into the sun with shades on, going downhill at 30 mph...before I hit it, I thought it was a piece of cardboard...going too fast to swerve...then KaBOOM
