I rode in pp while the race was going on and counted 11 guys with flats. Better bring out the gatorskins

Bottom of the descent on the last lap a guy went down about 4 guys in front of me. I dont know if it was pot hole related. People slowed down and I thought I was going to stay up but the domino effect as inevitable and I went down and someone landed on me.  A little road ras, a cut on my knee from someone's chain ring and a bruised calf but otherwise okay. Bike seems okay but I lost my glasses. I went back to the scene to look for them and saw 3 ambulances patching people up. I think about 8-10 guys went down. Incidentally Lorenzo who was pretty banged up said that the saw my glasses and thought a Major Taylor guy grabbed them. Anyone have any ideas in how to reach out to try to retrieve them?

Oh and @David Gardiner when are you going to start racing? We could use you out there. 

When I was walking back up the hill an ambulance just arrived to help some dudes who were down...that pot hole was a sniper this morning

A bit scared to come back after seeing those crashes today.

It's the pot holes... If they fill them in there will be less crashes. I'm riding my clinchers until the repairs are made.  

I also rode 9 laps around the park , with the pack , which for me was a huge success

Yacks, how do you double pinch flat tubulars?! Gads. Check those hoops good for bulges of the brake track and cracked spoke holes.

You hit a deep pot hole at 38 mph while in the drops (good thing I was in the drops). The tires were pretty narrow (22mm).  Today I am having my bulbous 25mm vittoria's moved over from my aluminum tubs.  That hole at the bottom of the hill claimed many people's skin and bones last weekend.  The venue is becoming more unsafe.  The chicane before the old finish is dodgy...getting squeezed there every week.  Pot holes at the bottom of a 40mph descent = not safe...Forget about the sprinting for 20th bs...this is a life/death situation...someone is going to get killed or crippled

sorry, what?!? are we talking about prospect park? "the chicane before the old finish" what?!? dude, there no chicanes in Prospect, actually, there are no chicanes in all of brooklyn.

yes, it is not as nice as other years, but prospect remains one of the best surfaces we'll ever race.

there are some holes, there always are, they don't move, they'll be in the same spot every lap, and yeah, I get it, sometimes you can't avoid them, but in general, here's a tip: don't hit them. seriously, this is easy stuff.

Sorry....I'm a bitter Jones after watching $200 worth of tubulars go poof...and my short life flash before my eyes...the chicane is that little serpentine bit the road does where they laid down those new beefy curbs near the rink...a rather portly woman on a cruiser infiltrated the race there last weekend and nearly ended my race, just before that portly pot hole finished the job.  Eloy after 20 years racing in Prospect I am aware of road conditions and can say with a degree of certitude that it is currently the worst it has ever been.

This is a great idea.  

What would help me, and others who aren't in Prospect regularly or just don't pay much attention, is some way of describing where the big holes are.

In Central Park, the streetlights have numbers on them.  Things like W981, for west 98th street light 1.  Is there any system like this in Prospect so we can all repeat the same info to the 311 person?

The holes are the things with the penis's drawn around them.
