@YaksThe overall results are posted here, but they inaccurately reflect the points that Alfonso got.  He should have received 6 instead of the 1 that they have him down for.

I'm trying to get this cleared up (specifically for KOM) but it doesn't look hopeful.

In terms of my race, I'd definitely like to focus on the KOM points either through a break or a sprint, but am down with a team plan.

yes...I see the problem...but maybe don't protest too much :)                  If anyone is picking up their kits...could u get mine too if you are racing saturday????  many thanks.  I hope Dan has a nice pair of podium shoes for the photo op...perhaps some cap-toed oxfords or classic penny loafers?

Yaks, I'm picking up Patrick's kit tomorrow so I can pick up yours as well. Email me off forum with your order so I can make sure it's accurate when I get it.

re the results snafu:

I feel like one of the most important things that separates Charlie's series from the others, is the accuracy and promptness of his results. It would be really disappointing for him to not take this situation seriously and not attempt to make things right.
I'm in for 123

the field is currently at 78 and growing.

We have David Stokes, Eric Ragot, Rene, Christian, Lenny, Vlad, Joaquin, Ryan, Marc Bertucco, and myself.   At this size, I think we owe it to ourselves to be on the aggressive side.

This is Lenny's first race back since his crash.  Ragot's first race back since travel.  Marc's second race since his kid.  Myles, haven't seen him in ages, perhaps he's racing Friday nights out in Riverhead.

Umm. I will do what I can but have low expectations. For Myles, that is... :-)
Yeah, I'm happy to take an assignment. My engine is good but my legs aren't sharp. I've done a lot of miles of climbing and tempo but I haven't raced or high end efforts in some time.

I'm feeling pretty good this week. I'm up for getting involved early.

Points leaders pretty much have a lock on all the competitions. I have a feeling that Mengoni will try to control the race and set up their sprinters (Scott and Cesar). Foundation is fielding some good guys so the battle will probably be between those two teams. Out of United's A squad, only Horace is registered. If Paul, Jermaine, Ricky, and at least one of their 'white guys' don't show up then I wouldn't expect much out of them. Stalin and Amaury are sitting pretty and will probably do just that. Durso and Dioslaki are guys to watch for in the break. Butts and Seaton have done good jobs or getting in the right moves recently. That strong Jamaican track star Maloe Rodman will be there too.

Let's get aggressive. Let's make something happen.

Looking forward to this one... and the ceremony after.

I'm feeling pretty decent overall.  I think if people are feeling so-so, the best thing to do is stay near the front and make sure we're covering things, not letting gaps open unless we have someone up there. And if we don't have someone in the move, riding tempo or helping ride tempo to either close the gap or minimuze the distance.  At least one guy in the top 10 at all times, but at least three in the top 20. One guy at most should be saved for the sprint and even he should be ready to cover moves early on.

In the last three or four races, the break has basically ridden up the road when the field was tired of chasing and the right combination got together.  In the last two, the break went before half-distance.  We want to be in the move.
I don't know about Cesar Marte.  last week, he pinned his number on the wrong side and upside down, he attacked through the jogger's lane to get zero gap and was nowhere to be found at the end.  I'm thinking Mengoni wants a break so they don't have to sprint.
Cat 4s it is looking like an early break to steal points in the KOM and sprint is where we want to be. So Jim and Jeff C should be looking to set that up. If you've got Alfonso Torres in your break just shut it down and we ca set up a sprint train.
Mr. Torres is not going anywhere without a gosh, teal blue spooky skeletor stuck to his wheel
1/2/3s...lets make sure we are massed at the front...if not JP's cover everything himself reflex will kick in (not unlike my infant's "startle reflex"), and he will miss out on the move that counts. He's got to be our A rider. If it comes down to a sprint, the guys who are riding at the front will work it out amongst themselves. Traditionally, Lenny, Rene, and Christian have been our guys who like to contest these things. Ragot though, has been getting his business done though on the New Jersey Crit circuit (which is infinitely more civilized than our park races), so I won't count him out either.

This will actually be my first race and first road bike ride (although I do get some wicked sprint training when I'm late to work and all I've got is my 3-ish-speed commuter) in 12 days. And I've been sick these past 2 days...so, you know...put me in Ragot's low expectations club. I'm full of enthusiasm and phlegm...not much else.

P.S. Because of technicalities, I think JP, Myles and I will have to be wearing ye olde kit.
Myles will have. New kit. Jp has new kit.? Hat is wrong with it.
hands off my hat rag-man. I need me my special under-lid. Anyone got a spare one in the new design? I hear Ragot really really wants to buy me one. ;-)
Marc Bertucco - I have got you covered (pun totally intended) if you want one in the tech fabric.
Order me up a hat in the new order round would ya ?

I got the updated accurate overal standings. Looks like it was Samuel Torres not Alfonse that got all the points last week (6 Sprint, 3 KOM, 12 GC).  Good news is that Yaks is locked for 2nd now. Bad news is I'm in 4th, but just one point back from Sam. I need to mark him (if I can figure out who he is) and make sure I beat him. We could also try to prevent him from getting points.  A break without him would help in this regards.

I'm trying to post the standings but having trouble.

I know who he is. I'll try to point him out to you if there's time.

Standings.
Good luck tomorrow my dudes. I will be rooting for you, especially my cat4 homies who have jerseys on the line.

Own it! I know you can!
The P123 was shaping up as a punchy, fun, hard race until the big crash on the downhill with, what, 5 or 6 to go (?) neutralized us for 3 laps and then eventually shut us down totally.

Glad to hear that all the Kissenas who went down (Joaquin, Myles, Lenny) were all mostly OK. It sounded awful and we had to be going well over 30 mph.

While we were neutral Scott Savory thought it would be funny to draft 2 inches off the wheel of some woman out for her morning ride in the bike lane.  Nice one, idiot.

Couldn't quite sneak myself into the money in the sprints. Thanks to Yacks and Dan for helping me give it a go. The guys smashed it for Jeff C who took 3 points in the first KOM, slotting him into 3rd overall. Race was called at the bell. Fun morning. Hope everyone that went down is OK.
As marshal following the PRO123 field, I saw a couple of guy toss their bottles into the grass to "shed weight" before the massive hill I suppose.  I'm sure they remembered to pick them up after the race.

There was also a dead raccoon.
I think the ghost of the raccoon took its revenge.

The crash happened near the front, right as I was moving up to take over patrol duty.  I would say we were closer to 35+ mph when the first guys went down.  I managed to scrub a fair amount of speed, then ran into a road block of bodies.  Nowhere to go but over.  It was a dumb crash (guys just not paying attention and getting wobbly), but aren't they all?  I've got the usual assortment of scrapes, but nothing too bad.  On the plus side, I felt pretty good.

Were the rest of the 123's neutral right away?  It seemed like there was some pretty contentious yelling in the pack it was passing the start/finish.
Lol
