I recommend Lady Bird Bakery on 8th ave in Park Slope. Ask for the "Carrot Bar"... see you in 15lbs. -Norm
Does anyone have a nutritionist they have seen or recommend? Ive been having a hard time keeping weight on, and wanted to try out an eating plan in attempt to regain some lbs.

Sunday power breakfast:
Sugar and caffeine get you up fast. Fat smooths out the plateau and keeps you going.
works just as well the other six days of the week.  just ask wilford brimley.
I will not destroy my weight-loss progress at the office Halloween party. The candy on my desk (and my co-worker's desks) is for the the children, not for me. I can, however, enjoy a beer from the office kegerator.
@Norm you glorious devil; it'll take more than children's candy to crack you!
@Norm  - office and co-worker. You're employed?

I just had 2 Milky Ways, a Twix, 2 Nestle Crunch bars, M&Ms, and a Reeses's peanut butter cup (all fun size).

This is in addition to the (full size) Snickers I ate earlier today.

Is that bad?

@Ryan, ain't nothing wrong with that.

Yeah...Milky Ways, bad...waste of calories...the rest are good solid candy bars.

Hey Eric --yeah... got a contract gig at a marketing agency here in town, doin' my usual User Experience activities. Cash flow is a lovely thing.

Jules: It was really, really close. I ended-up getting out --didn't even drink the beer (I have a few beers a week, and with all the good stuff available, I realized drinking some programmer's homemade ale wasn't the way to go). I went home, roasted delicata squash, seared some grass-finished burger crumble, poured a generous amount of tzatziki sauce over it all, braised some sprouts... now I'm sipping peppermint tea. Oh, and I had some hazelnuts on the way home to fight off the monster that was welling-up within...

Feeling great (though not terribly fast on the bike!).
Want to be as skinny as Todd but don't want to weigh your pasta? Buy it like this. Boom.

... then sprinkle some of this on it: http://start.trysensa.com/dms4488/

@Malcomson - That website offended my eyeballs.
Sweet! An excuse for eight hour rides! http://nyti.ms/SlCpKA

I have the book Racing Weight. Not great but was good to get me going in the right direction. Planning on doing green mountain this year so I just dusted it off. Ill post some highlights from it as I browse through it.
Racing season begins in a month and I've got about 10lbs of winter fat to lose and several lbs of muscle to gain.  Starting now, I'm just saying "no" to junky carbs and unnecessary sugar.  I'll probably update this comment on an ongoing basis just to keep myself honest...

Target: 145lbs
Week 1: 150lbs

Current Weight: 150lbs
Notes: After a pathetic trainer session I made myself a bowl of Kraft Mac & Cheese and mixed it in with leftover rice and pork from the Vietnamese place.  Epic fail, don't do that again (until November).
That dinner sounds totally disgusting.
Download the MyFitnessPal calorie counting app. 3 things will happen. 1) you will lose weight. 2) you will get faster. 3) you may develop an eating disorder.

I won't lie, the meal was pretty great and I'm tempted to eat it again tonight after computrainer.
The nice thing about mac and cheese is you can throw anything in there and, well, it tastes like cheese.
But from now on, when you go to say cheese, say Rice Cake instead.  I'm going to make. . . Rice Cakes for dinner.

For me, 2 beer maximum on any given evening.  I switched my trail mix at work with raw almonds, and only a handful per day.  Quinoa is now in the house, as are flax seeds that go on salads with Beets.
OMG all this sounds so gross.

The online food diaries are good tools for sure. I also used My Fitness Pal to good effect. And here's the thing. After a few weeks of fastidiously logging most everything, and generally spending way to much time figuring out how many calories were in my homemade items (pre packaged items are easy to find in their database), I kind of "gave up" on the logging, but it got me in the habit of eating less and being more thoughtful about my choices, in general.

Of course I too gained way too much over the holidays and I'm struggling again...which means, I better get back to counting calories. Yeeesh.

p.s. FWIW, Adam Myerson says the only way he can lose weight is if he keeps a diary.

Damn this thread for making eat a side salad instead of potato chips.
Seriously? If you have Kraft Mac & Cheese in your house, you're not getting out of the 4's.

You're on the fast track to diabetes.
I'm okay with never getting out of the 4's if it means i get to indulge in mac & cheese once in a while.

The diabetes thing though, without question, something I'd like to avoid in life.
