Floyd Bennett Field

While flying around at a ridiculous pace tonight somewhere near the shattered front, I saw JP's pain face.

It was a privilege.
That really hurt.

I didn't expect to get worked over by BH and WS United.
I'm headed out 545 ish to there. Doing 3/4
Ugh - worst night I've had at Floyd in a long time.  Popped off the back with 1 to go and gave up.

On a completely different note, during the long side stretch, the field going about 25mph, I watched as a WS United rider unclipped from his right pedal, grabbed his foot and pulled back to stretch his thigh muscles.  I wanted to shout "WTF?  Seriously?!?" but considering that I was huffing and puffing at the back I thought it would be poor form.
I'm totally down for this tonight...cat 4 and 123 races start at 702/700? Just wanted to confirm what I saw here:

Yes. Charlie is a stickler. Sometimes, early/late in the series, start times are moved back 15 minutes to compensate for the diminishing light.

The facebook page can be a good resource for updates... sometimes.

Anyone know what time I should be there to help with reg?  6 or 6.30?
thanks for info Vlad
7th in the 3/4's

Word!

Only 2 races left. Come get some before the summer fun/agony ends.
Nice work C-Raf!
anyone going tonight? I'm concerned about the weather.
Computer says it could Derecho or Dorito or something.

The break will probably stick then... probably.

mmm...cloudy with a chance of doritos.
Guys,

I know I haven't been racing much but I did try and help you guys out last year at floyd!

That said lance is currently in first by 2 points in front of jermaine. If you guys can talk to him before the race and help him out ( ie not chase breaks that he's in) I'd appreciate it. Plus how awesome would it be for the lone rider to win as opposed to a complete jerk!

Thanks, w
OK, Chicken Little says thunderstorms and winds as high as 50mph, hitting BK around 8pm.

Floyd is going to get freaky tonight fellas.

 ^do tell?
That had to be epic.  I wanna hear the deets.
FREAKY DEAKY

Jermaine had the series locked up in the 123's (Wojc meant Johan) so it was more of the same - go fast and hang on.
The forum sucks right now. I'll wait until tomorrow to post my report. Meanwhile, check out the 329NP above... yeah buddy.

(Also note the 36mph top speed. WTF?)
Not much left to say other than it was hard. The 123 race was shortened from 16 laps to 12. There were less than 20 in the field which made the race incredibly fast. Horace was doling out killer primes to keep the race moving. Around half way in, a small break of Michael Boardman, Kyle Peppo, and Ricky Lowe got established after they went for a prime and kept their gap. We chased and chased, caught the last man as we came out of the last turn, and I probably finished up somewhere just outside the top 10 in the field sprint.

The looming storm was ominous and I had a feeling that the awards ceremony would be postponed. 10 minutes after the race ended we got bitch slapped by the Derecho. It was a mad scramble to help Horace clean up and then we sought refuge in the hangar. Thanks to Hubbard's lovely wife Ande, we had a ride home.

I'm going to miss Thursdays at Floyd.

I hope that Lance won the 3/4's.
Jesus Vlad that is some serious smoke.  Not sure if you guys are aware but if you have one you can pair your Withings devices (scale/pb cuff) with a Training Peaks account.

(I don't work for either)
Ok, two questions:

1) what the WHAT?!? as Marc would say...

2) and who is this tiny man-beast who beat Jan in a heads up sprint by 3 bike lengths?!?

1) lols.

2) ugh - I don't know who that little goblin is, but I tried to bridge up solo to the 3-man break of him, Jan and some other guy.  Spent an entire lap turning myself inside out and barely even closed the gap, let alone made it across.  They were MOTORING.
That little man races in the 123 races @ prospect and is kinda shaky on his bike. He also wears like 3 layers tucked in inside his bibs to give the look of a diaper.

That tiny beast, I have no idea. I talked to Jan after and he said he and another Dominican shelled their other breakaway partner by hammering too hard and had no clue how to take a proper lap. Jan sat in the last lap and still got beat! That kid was racing on Sunday as well in 123's, he sat on the front after I took a lap had to be told to pull through and which side by his teammate.

I want to know which secure lab this kid Bournito escaped from.
Goblin indeed.
My mom always said that I should smile for pictures, but this picture looks a little too much like Batman's Joker...

Lance won the 3/4s. Awards to be presented after the start of the new Sunday Graveyard Series this week.
