Can't do Watermelon on Saturday, so thinking about giving this a go.....

There's a guy reg'd in the 4's from "Death Row Velo" - uh...hm. It smacks of Primal Wear, but is also kind of badass in a New Jersey kind of way.

The problem with Death Row Velo is the typeface they use on their short. The butt panel seems to read DRU, which is goth or something, I think.

They're based out of Ridgewood, NJ, a cushy suburban town, not Paterson, Passaic, Bayonne, Newark (preferably Weequahic area), Rahway, or Camden.

So, yes, Primal Wear it is.

The guy from Death Row Velo is Aleksy Urosov.

He won the first two stages of Killington. His legs are massive. If he attacks, follow.

I raced with Aleksy last year at Floyd. He's a nice guy. He tried to get me to join DRV. I'm not a fashion snob, but I couldn't in good conscience wear something that garish. I don't want to die and/or go to jail and I'm not Sug night.

Aleksy will attack. We couldn't quite get away, but that doesn't mean that you can't.

I was kind of excited for Floyd until I saw it was only 20 miles. Really? That early, $25 to race 20 miles?

I just signed up for the 4 race on Sunday. Anybody have an extra medium jersey they can lend a new member? I could probably fit into a small if there were no mediums floating around.

Allen I signed up and can bring you a small jersey to the race, or if you'd like to come by and get it beforehand you can do that too. I live in Carroll Gardens.

For the family guys, there are kids races at FBF on Sunday immediately following the 4 race. My daughter is signed up for the 7-8 year olds. They do 1 lap of the 1.6 mile course. She could use a teammate to lead her out.....

That is unless she last minute gets cold feet which is entirely possible.

Thanks Jim. I just signed my son up for the 7/8 year olds as well. (He won't actually be 7 'til early August, but unless Ragot tells me "no" I'm going to give him HGH to accelerate him to age 7 over the weekend. Anyway probably only a 50% chance that we'll make it. I'll find you if we do. N.

9:50 @ GAP works....although......still debating whether to register my 6 2/3-year-old son for the 7/8 year-olds. Hugo was dropping him in the Accord Driveway Criterium earlier in the spring (I still blame it on his 25 lb. bike w/12" wheels), so not sure I want to expose him to being spit out the back like a bitter watermelon seed so early in life...

I am toying with racing, coming home, getting Luka and coming back...

Cat 3 7:15 meetup at GAP

Anyone have anything good to share from this race?

I lined up with pretty dead legs after a sort of double yesterday (flatted out of my first race). The plan was to get a big train going for Ryan at the end to try and get him a couple upgrade points. I thought I had a match in reserve but when it came to the final lap I just didn't have the pop to get to the front. Rolled in with the group after spending most of the race dodging the wind.

But what could have been a disappointing day turned a lot more fun as I rode around with my daughter as she tackled her first race. The 7-8 year olds did one lap of the short course. I recognized my own pain face in her's as we turned the final corner into the headwind but the cheering crowd at the finish kept her going strong and she finished not last. Good to see alot of kids out there and the Grehan bros representing in the older kids field.

I dunno...I thought we raced okay. Whitey rode well. It was just a weird race. Big field, and so short.

It was clear early on that nothing was getting away. I saw Ben T (FGX) and Aleksy (SIggis) make a move early that I jumped on knowing those were two of the strongest guys in the race. But it just wasn't happenin.

Lots of swerving around 1" puddles of water for some reason (for the record the P123s did that the other night too, so its not just a CAT 4 thing apparently).

I haven't contested too many field sprints in my short racing career but as Jim said being just a couple of short points away from my 3 updgrade I felt obligated to go for it today. I came around the final turn in good position maybe 5th or 6th? Tried to just follow the right wheels but I didn't have the pop to hold off the final swarm.

I'd guess I ended up just outside the top 10. Nice laps in the park with David and Whitey after.
